Sailuni's Quest (open)

Wings? Check. Fuel source? Check. Properly attatched to backpack? Check. Nitori continued to scan her list of things to check before trying out her new nuclear powered jetpack. Before it ran on, as cheesy as it sounded, magic. It ran on her water magic to be more specific, but since they figured out how to harness the power of nuclear fusion she figured she might as well test it on something that would make her life a little easier. If this worked then she wouldn't have to use any energy (well, at least not her own) to fly.

She was on the roof of her house, or at least what most humans would consider the kappa equivilant of a house. Really it looked more like a cave with several odd wires coming out of it. Nitori had finished going through her check list and everything looked okay. It was time to fly; it was time to test out one of her first nuclear powered creations. She was so excited that her little arms and legs actually started shaking a bit. She started the jet pack up and started to soar through the skies. This was great! Flying with this jetpack was a lot easier than flying with her old one, and it seemed to be working great.

Or at least it was working great for awhile. After about fifteen minutes in the air it started to hiccup. That was the best word she could think of to describe the sound it was making too. It made the ride a little turbulant, but it was still okay. Then it started to stutter, choke and a few minutes later it caught on fire. She would have to figure out how the heck it managed to do that later; Nitori could not fly without a jetpack and if this thing exploded on her she would fall. Well, she was going to have to land early unfortunately, but that was the last thing she was thinking about. Nitori started to panic and dove towards a nearby lake head first hoping to be able to slow down before she hit the water. She had no such luck, the pack was starting to pop and pieces of it were starting to fly off in various directions.

She had to take it off and throw it before it exploded on her back and that's exactly what she did. It exploded a few moments later, but it was small so the explosion wasn't that big or loud. It would certainly catch the attention of anyone that happened to be nearby though. Not to mention she made a rather large splash once she hit the water. Her fall hurt a lot even though she landed in the water. She eventually floated to the surface of the lake and just layed there since she really didn't feel like moving.

[Schala]

"Waaaaaugh!" cried Sailuni as water splashed onto her. "Phoo!" She shook at all off. After all, cats did not like getting wet.
She looked at the lake. At first glance she thought she saw a human girl. But when she looked again, she saw that the girl was a kappa. Then Sailuni saw that her map had fallen into the lake.
Sailuni crossed her arms. "Hey!" she called to the kappa. "That map is mine. Could you get it for me?"

[Augen]

Augen wandered through the area around a great mountain, of which he had not yet seen. He had been searching for a great cave, following what was once a map of Gensokyo... Now it was a map of Detroit. "Blimey... Last time I purchase a map from the yousei," he said to himself, as he continued to wander. Eventually he noticed something come into view... A lake. And a young girl as well... What were those things on her head? He couldn't see very well from the distance he was at, but he was not certain of the other side. So he crouched down and pulled out a pair of binoculars, watching from a distance. "Are those... Ears?"

As she floated there she examined her body for any fractures. It felt like one of her arms broke in the fall, but since she landed in water and youkai healed quickly in general it felt like it was mostly healed already. She submerged that arm completely to accelerate the process further. The cool water felt nice and the sun was quite pretty. It was a shame that she couldn't be enjoying this beautiful day soaring through the sky like she wanted. Ah well, the water felt nice and she could easily just float here for awhile. So she decided to just close her eyes and sleep for a moment.

...Or not. What was that noise? Nitori sat up and started treading water where this voice was coming from. And what it said for that matter. She wasn't really listening before and her ears were underwater, so she didn't quite catch what the person said. Something about a map? After rotating for a few seconds she saw the person that was shouting and she was pointing at a floating sheet of paper in the water. Well, Nitori was feeling helpful today, so she decided to go grab it for her, though it probably wouldn't be readable after floating around in the water like that. She quickly swam over to where the map was floating, grabbed it and made sure to keep it above the water and brought it back to its owner.

"Here you go," Nitori handed the girl her map. "Doesn't look like you'll be able to read it anymore though. You should be more careful next time."

Indeed, the ink on the map was starting to run and it was covered in wet blotches. She might be able to make out some of the locations if she looked hard enough, but it was pretty trashed. Nitori kind of wondered what the map was, but she honestly didn't care enough to find out. Right now she just wanted to focus on healing her arm.

[Schala]

Sailuni gasped when she saw the map. Quickly she grabbed it from the Kappa.
"Thanks...for nothing," she said.
She marched off. How would she find her temple now?
Suddenly, she noticed a boy. He looked quite startled in seeing her.
"Hmph," Sailuni said. She threw the map to the ground. She then crossed her arms. "What do you want?" she asked the boy.

[Augen]

The boy rolled forward into a standing position much closer to the lake. "Gah... You youkai and your keen senses," he said, now much closer to the youkai. "Anyway, if you really want to know... I'm quite lost. Heheh. It seems my map to what WAS Gensokyo has transmogrified, as if touched by magic," he said, holding up a map of what was now downtown Miami. "Um... Why? Am I interrupting something?"

[Schala]

Sailuni grabbed the map. It now showed the path to the temple she had been looking for!
"Here," Sailuni said as she handed the boy a teleporter. "In exchange for the map."

[Augen]

Augen grabbed the teleporter and looked at it for a while. "... Now what does this thing do?... And more importantly, WHY DO YOU NEED A MAP OF MIAMI," he said before sliding back about 15 feet and pointing his pistol at the catgirl. "I should've known it would be dangerous to carry that thing around... Do you have some business with the realm of humans?"

Man this place was great, lots of shelter from the sun, and rain, not so many humans, but hell maybe he'd be able to find something. To his shock he had, a male, roughly his age give or take a year, man all seemed to be working quiet well. Seth followed behind the man, remaining high in the trees mostly, the humans scent caught by Seth, so he was easy to stalk and seemed to have no idea he was there, even better. But of course something always has to go wrong.

The human was watching something down by the lake, Seth had only just been about to strike, when, no, too late, the human had been spotted by the cat. Oh fun, now he'd have to wait for them to finish before he got to eat, and his chances were not looking good. Seth sat far back on the branch of the tree not wanting to be noticed, listening bored, only then there was something that interested him and he looked down at them.

"The realm of humans?" he repeated questioningly, jumping to a lower branch so that he was now seen, cocking his head to the side, so what if he lost a meal, this was far more interesting "What would someone like you know of crossing the border?" he asked, despite his pale complextion he still spoke with an Egyption accent, something very few people recognized, he glared at the man. Completely ignoring the cat girl and whoever the other one was as he moved to the edge of the branch watching for how they would react. He doubted any of them would know what he was, and that didn't matter, what mattered was where this man came from.

Oh it was so nice to feel appriciated wasn't it? Dear Kanako, what an asshole, she'd get along marvelously with the tengu. Nitori's eye twitched a bit as the nekomata walked away. Considering she was in a large body of water and the jackass was a cat she could have a lot of fun with this, but she was just too nice to do something like that, or at the very least too non-confrontational. Instead she just sighed and focused on healing her broken arm.

She noticed the other two people and felt a little bad for the one that this nekomata actually decided to talk to, but she didn't really want to get involved. She just decided to float on her back again and enjoy the day.

((Yeah, like I said I really had no idea what to say.))

[Schala]

Surrounded by two boys, Sai spoke hesitantly.
"That teleporter will take you back to the human village," she said to the one with the pistol. "As for this map, we youkai can use it to be a map of whatever we wnat. I'm going to go to a temple on this mountain to find a mythical jewel, so I have no business with you humans, and don't expect ever to again!"
Sailuni waited for a reply. She had no idea how many contacs with humans were ahead of her, and a special one in particular would lead to her becoming one of the world's saviors...

[Augen]

Augen looked back and forth between the teleporter and the catgirl, pondering his options. "... A mythical jewel from a youkai temple? Sounds very dangerous, much too dangerous for a young girl such as yourself to inspect alone," he said, stuffing the teleporter into his pocket and spinning the pistol in his hand. "But I must inquire, for what purpose do you seek this jewel?"

Seth looked at the cat and raised an eye brow "Who are you calling you humans, I'm a very specific kind" he grinned, careful not to show his fangs and glanced back at his intended prey, he wasn't giving up just yet "What are you her father? And I just love the way you ignored me there" he smirked before hopping out of the tree, a landing he had forgotten, that most humans couldn't have been able to make as he wondered over to the lake looking at the girl swimming in it

"Interesting little gizmo you've got there." he called over to her seeing the reminents of the destroyed jet "Might be able to get it working for you again if you let me look?" he offered her.

Seth wasn't exactly what you could call generous, or even kind, but he missed the technology back home and almost never gave up the chance to play with something electrical, even if it was in bits...and wet. He kept his eye on the cat and his prey, not wanting to let them leave, but then again if they thought he wasn't following feeding would be all the easier

Youkai can make maps do whatever they want...? How much beer has she been drinking? Youkai maps might be able to do that, but youkai could not do that to ordinary maps. Well considering how this kitty was acting she wasn't sure if she should be suprised or not. Nitori was even more shocked that those two even wanted to be with in a few feet of her. She didn't think that any amount of treasure would be worth that (and if there was something worth getting she'd just get Marisa to steal get it). But it seemed like this guy at the very least was greedy enough to put up with her. Well, it wasn't her problem, so she just continued to float until some guy talked to her.

"Ah, no that's not nessicary," she sat back up and continued to tread water. "It exploded anyway, so I'm going to have to make another before I can try to figure out what went wrong before."

She really didn't want him to look at it at all, not that she minded people looking at her tecnhology, but the nuclear power was still supposed to be a secret until they got it working right. Sadly the tengu were nosy, obnoxious and couldn't keep a secret, so most everyone probably knew about it anyway. However, that didn't mean that Nitori shouldn't try to keep it a secret at the very least.

[Schala]

"Dangerous?" Sai laughed. "You think I'm in danger? I've done this sort of stuff a million times! Now go back to your village so I can find my jewel!" She crossed her arms and continued to walk.
"Me, in danger. Who does he think he's talking about?" said Sai as she read the map.
