Name:
Katar Sailuneran
Nicknames/Titles:
None
Age:
796
Age Appearance:
19-20
Race:
Youkai
Gender:
Female
Appearance:
Here ya go!
Personality:
Katar isn’t very trusting of humans since the majority of humans do not like youkai. She isn’t trusting of some youkai either, but she will not talk to a human unless they’ve proved themselves “trustworthy,” which at this point you pretty much will only get if you happen to save her life. Because of this paranoia, she tends to either be alone or with other youkai and is almost always found on Youkai Mountain, just not high up where the Tengu are because they tend to not want ANYONE up there. They’re pretty much the only youkai she doesn’t trust.
Any other youkai she’ll be nice to unless they attack her, in which case she will fight back.
Likes:
Magic, nature, Youkai Mountain
Dislikes:
Humans, getting attacked, being picked on
Greatest Fear:
She doesn’t focus on it much, but her only real fear is of being “sealed.”
Ambitions/Desires:
For humans to stop attacking youkai
Weapons:
Not really any, unless you count her magic.
Abilities and Fighting Style:
Katar isn’t really the fighting type, but she will fight if attacked, and is all for “fair” fights in which no one cheats. Her spellcards are:
Jewels of Youkai Mountain – Sapphire Rain: Many small sapphires fall from the sky. Each gem has the same hit effect as a danmaku bullet. This will only work outdoors.
Jewels of Youkai Mountain – Ruby Quake: A crack opens in the ground and many small rubies fly out. Again, these are like danmaku bullets. This spell will only work if Katar is standing on the ground and outdoors.
Jewels of Youkai Mountain – Emerald Waves: Small emeralds fly out of Katar in an elegant wavelike danmaku. This won’t work if there is another danmaku spellcard going on at the moment.
Jewels of Youkai Mountain – Diamond Storm: This is Katar’s strongest spell. Several small diamonds come flying out of the walls and form “tornados.” This will only work indoors. Due to this spell’s power, Katar will lose a lot of strength after casting it.
Strengths:
Powerful magic, smart, determined
Weaknesses:
Slow, doesn’t trust humans who don’t have a problem with youkai and might be useful allies (or any other human), a bit reclusive
History:
Katar was born in a village where both humans and youkai lived. Her mother and father were not at all the paranoid type she is today.
For about a third of her childhood her life was pretty normal, but then a small group of humans started a rebellion against the village’s youkai, as some youkai had been seen carrying humans off and those humans hadn’t returned. This group persuaded almost everyone who had lost a loved one to these youkai to join in, and soon nearly all of the humans were attacking the youkai, even the ones who had nothing to do with the missing humans like Katar’s family. They set Katar’s house on fire, and her parents opened a window and told her to run. She never saw them again.
She fled to Youkai Mountain, where she’s been staying for pretty much the rest of her life up until now, and because of the incident she does not trust any human unless they do something like save her life.
