bast swung his sword sending a crescent wave of magic at the girl shattering the ice at it went

Kylie shouted down to Haku, "No, you're not a monster! This guy is more of a monster!" She glared back at the swordsman she was facing. A wave of energy was coming toward her. She was unable to completely dodge, flinching from her burns again. One of her feet took the blast full on, which was rather painful. Kylie quickly recovered, then looked at her companions, and said "Augen, Haku, get back!"
Kylie glared at the swordsman. "I don't think you know what you're dealing with! Feel magic honed over two-hundred years!" Kylie's voice rang with confidence and power. "Drowning Sign~ Unforgiving Wave!" In just a few seconds, spheres of water would come from all directions, converging toward where the hunter was now. Kylie watched him closely, to see if he'd try a counterstrike. Once the water came, she'd shoot a few ice shards toward but not at him, trying to guide him toward a sphere of water, to be swept up in the merciless current.

"... No offense intended, but you certainly don't seem like a threat if you ask me... Then again, I haven't seen you fight yet," Augen said to the dragon. "This battle, however, seems quite dangerous. I'll keep an eye from above," he continued, and then ran up one of the trees and watched from above, keeping his eyes on the two of them and his hand on his gun in case things got out of hand.

"water and ice....fine...you leave me no choise youkai"
bast invoked the magic within black pheonix and flames came up around bast to protect him from the attack
the ice melted and water turned to steam
he sighed
"i hate using magic but i must in this case"
bast ran at the youkai with his sword now wreathed in fire
haku moved behind the trees to he could watch but wasn't in the way

"F-fire!" Kylie screamed. "AAHH!!!" Her horrible phobia of fire activated... And set her on fire. This was her curse. Flames burst from her back... And then began releasing randomly in different directions. "AAHH! Get away, get away!" Kylie screamed, as much to Haku and Augen as the flames themselves, which were deaf to her cries, due to not really being alive.
Kylie was helpless to stop it as random shots of flame went everywhere, out of control. Her panic was rising, rising... As long as she didn't get angry, she wouldn't explode... And of course, she got angry at the wielder of the flames that had started this, the slayer of the innocent... Anger and panic rising, she had no control over the flames whatsoever.

Augen, though curious as to what it felt like, really did not wish to be in several sections of the forest at once... And if Kylie's reaction was any indicator, he felt the curse was about to have quite an explosive effect. There was no time to think... Something had to be done fast.
"... BONK!" A swift whack across the head, and the girl fell to the ground, Augen standing behind her with a metal bar in his hand, which he then returned to his coat. After a few seconds of stomping out some of the remaining flames, Augen looked up at the hunter and held a pistol at the ready. "Don't even think about it," he said, grinning at the slayer. "You may have lucked out this time, but that does not mean I am on your side... I see it to be more important than ever that I help this girl. I don't plan to let you get in the way."
((PS: I did get permission from Drake to knock her out, just so y'all know))

the hunter looked at augen's weapon
"that dragon is my prize....guess it's just not today"
the flames died out and bast put his sword away
"you have an advantage that will end this"
he bowed and then walked off
haku walked over and put his wing around augen as a sort of hug
"thank you for saving me and the female"

"Ah!" Kylie let out one last cry as she felt the pain... Then everything faded away, for just a moment. The fear and anger were gone as well. She thought she heard someone saying something about... Helping a girl. Slowly, she became more coherent, remembering what had happened. But she felt strangely calm suddenly.
Kylie's eyes opened, and she blinked several times, slowly. She got up, wincing, and saw the Haku next to Augen, thanking him for protecting both of them. Kylie said, slowly "Yes... Thank you. If you hadn't stopped me, that would have been... Bad." She shook her head. "I'm sorry... I shouldn't be around other people. I..." She shook her head again, and tried to get up, "Ah!" She cried, falling down again. Her ankle had been injured, she couldn't walk on it. She didn't think she could use magic to fly away either, not right now....

"Not a problem. Saving people is what I do when I'm not killing them," Augen responded to Haku before Kylie got back up. But then as the youkai girl struggled to stand Augen became even more worried.
"Hey, are you alright," Augen asked, crouching down and helping Kylie back up. "We probably shouldn't stick around here much longer. The forest here isn't safe. We should probably get out of here as soon as possible... Do you need help walking?"

Kylie sighed. "I think I do, my ankle is hurt..." Then she shook her head wildly, "But I can't be near people! I'm too dangerous, with this curse...!" Then, the dragon came over as well, and she heard him speak. She calmed down, and said softly, "Thank you... And I couldn't just let him hurt you!"
Kylie remembered how she'd gotten this curse. It was when she refused to help destroy the Human Village at the request of the eerie man. Then... Everything was gone, in a confused panic, and an explosion... And she couldn't be around people, it was too dangerous now... She pushed people away because she was afraid that she'd harm them...

"No matter what, you'll always run into people," Augen sighed before going into an explanation. "That's just the way things are here. And until this curse is lifted, you'll just be puting more and more people in harm's way."
He paused for a moment before standing up and shooting himself in the foot. "I don't get hurt easily," he said before shooting himself in the other foot. "So I'd gladly put myself at risk if it meant that less insured people could be saved... And I'm sure you don't want to have to live with this curse forever. So I think it'd be best, both for you and the people you don't want to risk, for us to get on the back of that dragon and check out that library." He turned to face Haku. "That is, assuming you're certain you're alright with this."

he smiled and gently picked kylie up and the swung her onto his back and let her go
"fire wont hurt me so if you do go boom again i'll be safe"

Kylie listened to what Augen said. She replied uncertainly, "I... I suppose... I suppose you're right..." Then, she rather was surprised when the man shot his own feet. "Wha... What are you doing?!" she exclaimed, surprised. At what he said about assuming she didn't want to live with it forever, she shook her head slowly, and replied, "No... No, I don't. But... A library?"
Kylie laughed weakly, and then said, "I... I get nervous around books. Not really scared, but I keep thinking about what would happen if I went out of control... Or even if a fight broke out and I didn't lose control. Both fire and water are somewhat bad for books typically." She laughed again, shaking her head.
Then the dragon lifted her onto his back. Fire wouldn't hurt him? So... He was safe with her then. Kylie said to them, softly, but with a lot of gratitude in her voice, "Both of you... Thank you."

"Heheh, no problem. I'm glad to be of help, really," Augen said, pulling out his gun and reloading the cylinder. "The skies are perilous. It might be wise to keep a seperate pair of eyes while travelling... If you two go on ahead, I'll follow through the treetops," he said, running up a nearby tree. "If we encounter any trouble, I'll cover you two from there. Let's just hope we can get to the mansion smoothly."
