((OOC: This thread is for anyone from the thread I made in the Human Village titled "In Need of Allies..." as well as Gen, who has to be in any castle thread Not waiting for Taki or Lucia, even if they come back and somehow decide to join...)) Well, they were finally here. After a long trek through the Forest of Magic (this time taking the long way around the Bamboo Forest, Drake didn't want to meet the evil pink-clothed bunnygirl of doom again...) they were at the castle they'd been looking for... Which Drake had some difficulty finding after he realized... He had no freaking clue where it was! He'd had to take a lot of time wandering while sensing for large amounts of magical energy... No doubt everyone was fed up with it once they finally arrived. Drake walked all the way to the front door, and noticed writing on it. 'Welcome. There is not much to say, but here is the rundown: The grunts in here will not try to kill you in any way. If you ignore this, then you will certainly pay for it later. There are locked doors, and the keys are hidden inside this castle. Those that hold them will be blatantly obvious, and you may beat up the one holding them (but again, refrain from killing them). I await the heroes of the land to make their progress through here. Good luck.
-- Kaosu'Kaosu? Was that the one in charge of this place? Oh well. Drake supposed he'd find out... He did make a mental note not to go around killing everything he found inside. Rather different from most creepy castles he'd been to. (He'd been in an almost disturbing number) Drake then remembered that Shouki had said she'd wait for him around here... He as he shouted "Shouki, are you here?" Then he remembered his other companions. He glanced back at them. "Well, we're here. A friend of mine said she'd wait here for me... She doesn't seem to be immediately within sight though. If she doesn't show up, I guess we'll go in without her..."

Well, that thing about the grunts just letting them pass was a bit of a disappointment but looking for the hidden keys would be fun enough. Mokuko wasn't too worried about having to fight the guardians as his companions seemed to be strong. Then someone said something about having to wait for someone else, which made the puppet start looking for something to do.
Looking up, he lashed out at a passing bird and wrapped it in his Astral Strings. A few finger- twitches allowed him to figure out which part each String was connected to and soon he was able to move it well enough to make it fly naturally. He sent it over to Drake and made it circle the man's head, wondering what reaction it would produce.

Augen raised his hand, confident in his abilities to survive the random. Then he replied to what Drake had mentioned. "Yes. It'd be wise not to spend much time waiting. After all, she could already be inside, right?" Augen paused for a moment to reach into his pocket.
"Also, just in case we get seperated while we're in there, each of you, take one of these," he said, handing each a small black box with a tiny button and a circle of holes on it, giving two to Drake. "By pressing this button and talking to the box, we should be able to communicate from a distance. Drake, if you see the person you're looking for, give one to her as well... Also, you might want to look up," he said, pointing his pistol just slightly above Drake's head.

(If Lucia is joining ANY group, it'd be the one already all the way in the castle. And that's...well, a little too late. Lesson: BE HERE. That also goes for Taki. BE HERE. Can't run a plot if the posters move in slow motion. And by slow motion I mean not be here for weeks at a time ALL the time. Other people like it when the person is actually here o.o)
Shouki was sitting right next to the door, as she was doing when the other group came in. By what it sounded like (some people can't help overhearing these things while sitting and waiting) they all went to the mess hall, and one of them already had the key. What some people might not know is that 2 smaller groups are better than 1 singular one when it came to covering ground, especially indoors. Also, a large crowd would give her one hell of a headache, especially if it started to bicker. But, there's nothing she could do to not end up in that room...oh, they found stairs. Hopefully most of them would go down the stairs. That would be good. Then she wouldn't get an epic headache.
And it seemed that Drake had arrived, along with the group he said he would bring.
....And seemed to not see her due to sitting down. He was probably too tall or something. She got up, and he better have noticed her by now. And as the other person had called for a showing of hands, she raised her own. With this group, it was likely that they would make it out.
In any case, how about the other people...hmmmm....
One seemed to be not from here, just like Drake, but he had seen less than Drake. 2 newcomers in the same party. Considering outsiders were a rarity, this was...odd. In any case, he seemed to have a good grasp on this technology thing, much like the Kappa did, but slightly different...more like Rika, in fact. He seemed to have a device that could best be explained as a 'walkie talkie'. And he seemed to be messing with Drake.
Then there was a puppet, who seemed to have a mind of it's own. Actually, it did. How else was she able to read it? In any case, it's way of life was pretty simple. Oh, and it seemed to be messing with Drake.
The other fellows we--wait a second. There's only one person...but two minds? On closer thought, it was just the sword along with the guy. The guy seemed well off enough, but the other one...Shouki better watch her step. This one didn't seem to be messing with Drake (though the combined efforts of the other two would quickly drive him insane).
The castle door was wide open. Ahead, there was a royal looking (locked) door. To the left, the Shop complete with message below the name and label on closed door*, and to the right, the Mess Hall, along with signs of active life behind a closed door.
*(You can find this message in a different thread I'm lazy K thanks, dood)

Drake noticed Shouki stand up, and raise her hand, when Koth asked for a show of hands for who thought they'd make it through this. Drake's hand was actually rather shaky as he raised it... And he blushed, embarrassed, as he realized that Shouki had been there and he hadn't noticed before. Oops.
Then Augen threw him a couple of walkie-talkies, saying that he should probably give one to Shouki. Drake held one out to her, and said "Er, hi Shouki. I guess you should take this...?" He wasn't sure what to say. Actually, his other hand was pressed to his forehead... Likely leaving a speaker-shaped mark or something, with the device he was holding.
When Augen pointed his gun at him and said he should look up, Drake wasn't sure how to react. Then he looked up, and noticed a bird flying around his head "What the...?" Drake had no idea how to react to that. "Um... Uh... Wha...?"

koth looked around a put his sword away "looks like everyone is here" he clipped the walkie-talkie to his belt and turned toward the door "shall we go inside...we have one day to save gensokyo and i happen to like this world the way it is"

Mokuko didn't have any free hands to take the mysterious black box and he almost did it with his mouth before he realized that it wouldn't be polite. He made the bird fly over to himself and perched it on his head before carefully switching each of his left hand Strings with those from his left foot.
Then he took the box and studied it carefully. It certainly wasn't magical and he couldn't see anything at all that would tell him how it worked. It looked very much like something from that weird half-Youkai's novelty shop and he decided do try using it as he'd been told. Then he remembered the bird on his head and thought that it would be fun to try both together. He pressed the button and raised the box to the bird's beak to catch its distressed chirping.

All of the other boxes began to emmit the same chirping sound that came from the bird on Mokuko's head. "Hehe, don't mess around too much. These things run on limited alkaline bat-- er... their power is limited," Augen explained as he put his pistol back into his coat. "So... Shall we head on in? I'm quite anxious to not be obliterated as the world crushes inward on our faces."

(More than 2 weeks later...wow, I really need to step it up. Sorry for my ebil waitingness and stuffz.)
(And just in case memory decided to hate you, remember you're all partying with a Satori.)
(Not the PARTY kind of party, mind you. The group kind of party.)
(Cool kids use parenthesis NOW LET'S GET ON WITH IT THIS IS TAKING FOREVER)
In reality, the group had more than one day to do this, but they still needed to hurry along. But it's not like Kaosu specified a time. It could be tomorrow, today, 1 second from now, 5 minutes ago*, in 1000 years, or just whenever. This being the god of chaos, any of those times were reasonable. Or so they thought. And it would probably crush outward, though no one here probably want to find out which one it would do.**
At least those people went downstairs. But something rather...peculiar happened.. A key literally came from the mess hall door (it had actually went straight through the door by means unknown), and implanted itself in the door up ahead, which then (slowly) opened by itself.
The reasoning behind that...maybe someone was being rather odd and keeping the key to themselves while running around doing bonus things, and the key got impatient?
Well it certainly beats any explanation YOU have to offer, doesn't it?***
Now there was 3 options on where to go. Onward to the unlocked door, to the shop to possibly prepare for the events to follow, or to the room where the key came from, the mess hall (and the revealed summoning room, though that was locked right after the key came out of it so that the inhabitants could not simply run away from that which they had brought into the land).
---------------------------------------------------------
But now back to the people and their minds. The castle is done moving around.
It seemed that Drake really didn't notice her earlier. He really did seem to miss the obvious...oh well. That didn't matter. What did matter was that she didn't get blown up in a world ending explosion.
But now, she had a walkie talkie. It could be pretty useful, in case circumstances forced them to split up (which was quite possible). Great, now she had to deal with the bird's frantic chirping 2 times over (one coming from the box now, go figure, how 'useful'), it's frantic wanting to get out voice that was now echoing through her head, along with Drake's confused mind and everyone else's. Oh well, she's had worse. It was still pretty uncomfortable though. She managed to not let it show, though her third eye was slightly less open than before****. She would have said thank you to Drake, but it was Augen that indirectly gave it to her, and it's not like he had a reason to keep the second one. So, she turned to Augen and said the only thing needed to be said.
"Thank you."
And soon after that, a noise could be heard. A door was opening, and that's probably where they should be heading now. So with due haste...
"I suppose that the door that just opened is the way we're supposed to be going?"
The area was a little bit too far to see clearly considering everyone is still just outside the castle (apparently there's a hallway after the door), therefore letting the person that should be posting to hit the button right now. How genius of him~
*(Ok, maybe not, dood.) **(It would actually crush all in one direction.) ***(Besides this being Kaosu's Castle, anyway. By the way, for those wondering, the summoning mirror has magic. And that is what happened.) ****(The Eye Is Currently Thinking: You people are all a bunch of walking n' talking firecrackers. Kids these days...sigh...)
(666 Word Count. Obviously, this was aimed for. I'm so evil~)

The bird was... Flying over to Mokuko? Okay...? Drake winced as the bird chirped into the walkie-talkie, that sound was annoying... Augen then began to mention alkaline batteries, though then he clarified to say that the devices had limited power. Alkaline batteries? Drake didn't know that much about Gensokyo yet, but he had a feeling that such things weren't commonplace around here... Could Augen be from another world? Hm... Maybe. He remembered something that Augen had said when they first met... And he remembered that Carlos had said that he wasn't from Gensokyo either...
So that probably meant that Gensokyo had a strong connection to at least one other world... Was it possibly the one he was originally from himself? If it was connected too strongly to one world, it might be difficult to reach from others, which might explain some things, such as why he hadn't been able to enter it before... Though it still didn't explain why he had so little of his power remaining now...
Drake supposed that it didn't much matter. Or rather, simply thinking about it here wouldn't get much done. Drake hadn't read the article that he'd learned about the castle from thoroughly, so he was slightly confused when people talked about the end of the world. Had that been mentioned before...? But again, he supposed that he really didn't need to be thinking about this right now. He'd probably find out more once he was inside, and he was mostly here to investigate, he'd searched for allies because places like this tended to be rather dangerous...
He supposed that it was time to go in. Shouki made a comment that the door that had just opened was the way they probably should be going. Drake wasn't quite sure... "It could be a trap though... Then again, we're going into the castle in the first place, so it probably doesn't make much difference." He laughed half-heartedly,
"Well... Let's go in I guess." He said before he started walking forward into the castle... Though he didn't let his guard down. He expected chaos, there was always absolute chaos, from bunny-girls that lead you into traps, to... Well, anything. It was just constant craziness, it wasn't really that limited... Though usually it didn't involve mass destruction or anything... Usually. He desperately hoped it wouldn't this time either...

Mokuko hesitated for a moment, wondering how he would move with one of his feet occupied. Then he remembered that he had a bag and he put the strange black box into it. He spent another moment considering if he should bring the bird into the castle but he finally decided that it wouldn't be of much use. His captive was positively neurotic by the time he broke his Astral Strings and it needed a little bit of prodding to make it fly off.
The others were ahead of him when he finally stepped forward and he had to jog a little to catch up. He'd almost forgotten about the bird in his excitement at the thought of starting a new adventure.

Augen hesitated for a moment before walking into the castle alongside the others... And upon stepping inside he found the main room to be somewhat orderly. Something that looked to Augen like the calm before a storm. "Hnnn... Strange for this type of room to be in a dominion of chaos," he said, pointing his gun back and forth between each of the doors. "... Bet there'll be more than enough to make up for it behind those doors, though."

(TRY #3 TO POST HERE)
Hmmm.....Drake was wondering if they were from the same world. Based on what she read in their minds, this wasn't true. It would probably be easier if she didn't say anything though, and so kept silent about that.
In any case, it was a good thing Mokuko let go of the bird, which was driving her more insane than before. And as for Koth's question...
"Well, I don't suppose we have much of a choice. Waiting for Doomsday really isn't my thing."
And she followed the group.
Behind the doors, there was a slightly bigger yet pretty much the same size of room as before. Instead of having 2 rooms to the side, there was 4, and the 'big door' in this one was even bigger, had every shade of color known to man on it (seriously, every single one fits there), and had 2 keyholes. The 4 hallways were in diagonal directions (NE, SE, NW, SW), the back 2 remaining unseeable unless you actually walk into the main room and turn around. What's in them? Wait a second, more.
The room ahead was actually occupied by a so and so number of seemingly high leveled grunts. This is assumable because they were dressed in fancy clothes, most of the battle variety while the others looked more formal and probably still kicked ass in them. They seemed to be on their guard, but not hostile. Matter of fact, they were chatting amongst themselves too, wondering if they were going to attack out of nowhere like those other people.
Now for those hallways. The farthest one to the left had a an incredibly weird aura, and it seemed like anything could happen in there. The label on the top of it was simply 'Roulette'. It felt like that by going in there, you were taking some sort of risk. The end of the hallway was impossible to see, and it looked like it was pretty dark in there the deeper you looked.
The farthest to the right had an aura that simply felt like a mass surge of energy. It was easy to notice why by looking at it's label: 'Chaos Generator'. Sounded like it was a good pick to move things along. The door at the end was high-tech looking. For Gensokyo, it was VERY high-tech looking.
The closer one to the left seemed uninteresting and dull. The door at the end was uninteresting and dull. This was an uninteresting and dull hallway. How dull and uninteresting. Boring hallway next.
The closer one to the right was labeled 'Barracks'. One would assume that this is where the grunts slept and things like that. You would be right. At the end, there was 4 doors. One was labeled M, one was labeled F, one was labeled ?, and one was labeled as Mixed. The hallway had an aura that made you want to stay the hell away. And it wasn't the kind of 'stay away' that makes you want to go there either.
Shouki was not really happy about more people with their minds going on and on, but then she realized that she could probably learn a few things from them and continued as before.*
*(No notes this time, dood.)
