Carlos didn't see the soap in time to dodge it but his crystal ball swooped in front of his face to take the hit for him. He got the message and stepped out of the bathroom to wait for Vandater to put something on, and as he went he overheard the Youkai's words to Caedir.
Back in his own world he'd heard of people with traumatic pasts experiencing such visions. Orphans might see their true parents standing in a doorway, Soldiers would see enemies in every shadow and killers would see blood on their hands. That being said, however, there was a real possibility of Vandater being under an enchantment of some sort, that someone who knew her past was trying to mess with her mind. They would certainly have to tell Keine about all this when she got home.
At the moment, however, they couldn't do anything else but wait until their hostess returned. Carlos left the bathroom and went to the front door to see who had knocked earlier.
----
Akyu was about to comment on Kitria's reply when Carlos appeared at the door. With a loud "AHA!" the burly man stepped forward and grabbed him by the collar, lifting him off his feet before anyone could react. "Akyu-sama! The scream was that of a woman! Perhaps this wretch has-"
He was interrupted by Carlos' crystal ball slamming into his forehead with a sharp crack, knocking him to the ground and making him drop his captive. The other men rushed to his side as Carlos tried to apologize but Akyu simply shook her head in an exasperated manner. "You did well there, young man. He was always a bit too impulsive for his own good. Now, I believe you were at the back of the house until a few moments ago. What happened?"
Carlos looked at the girl for a moment, wondering if he should speak so freely when Keine was not around, but he finally decided that it could do no harm. "Our friend had some kind of horrible vision, something about a head and blood. It seems to be over now, though."
Akyu thought for a moment before replying. "Do you know anything about her past? It seems that some trauma she once had may be catching up with her. On the other hand, though..." her voice grew serious, "... it may be a sign that her relatives are in trouble. Both of these possibilities need to be investigated."
The sound of footsteps caught her attention and she turned to see Keine walking towards them with a box in her hands. She waved and called out to her friend. "Keine! You've come at the right time. Something bad seems to have happened."
After dismissing the village men, the two of them stepped some distance away and had a discussion that Carlos could not hear. It seemed to be about the incident, however, as Keine assumed a look of concern halfway through. A few moments later they approached the door and Keine spoke. "Carlos, Kitria, let's go inside. Kitria, I want you to call Caedir and Vandater into the living room. We need to discuss what just happened."

One thought wave after another for Caedir. A head? Blood? An illusion? Why? Was there a secret Vandater had? She was just about to respond when Kitria came in, saying Keine was awaiting her and Vandater.
-----------------------
Kitria gasped when the big man picked up Carlos. She gasped again when the crystal ball hit the man. A head and blood? From what Carlos had said, it sounded serious. Just then Keine came by and asked Kitria to grab Caedir and Vandater. Kitria walked into the bathroom and spoke. "Keine-sama awaits you in the living room."

"Um, yes. Just a moment," Vandater said in response to Kitria. She looked around for something to wear.
A moment later Vandater walked out of the bathroom, wearing the nearest bathrobe she could find at the time due to a lack of time. "Um, sorry for my... Uniform. I didn't want to keep you waiting, Keine-sama." Then she looked around, noticing that there were even more people... A few of which immediately struck a bad chord in Vandater's head. "... And just who are these people?"

((OOC: The men were supposed to have been dismissed already, meaning Akyu would be the only one there whom Vandater didn't know. Never mind, though.))
"People?" Keine was confused until she realized where Vandater was looking and turned to see that two of the men from earlier had actually followed her and Akyu into the house. She felt a bit irritated by their curiosity but she managed to control her anger and calmly ordered them to leave.
After making sure that Akyu and her four guests were the only ones with her in the room, she closed the front door and went about putting away what was left of dinner. When she was done she rearranged the cushions and invited all five of her visitors to be seated, then she laid out the box of grilled lamprey she'd bought from Mystia's stall and finished off by pouring tea for everyone. Eventually she seated herself beside Akyu so she could introduce her friend to the rest of her guests.
"This is Akyu, ninth child of Miare. It is her family's duty, or more accurately her duty to chronicle the entire history of Gensokyo from a human perspective."
Then she turned to Vandater. "I called for this discussion because I sense that your vision may be a sign of something more serious. If you are suffering from memories of a past trauma then you should be open about it for I might be able to help you."
Her voice took on a more serious tone. "On the other hand, this might be the work of one of your own enemies who may be trying to torment you with evil visions. I can only trace your past back to your arrival in Gensokyo but if you have enemies from beyond that time you must reveal them to me. I will not have the village threatened by foes from your history."

Kitria smiled at Akyu. "It's nice to meet you, Akyu-sama," she said. "My name's Kitria." Then she turned to Vandater. "Vandater, if anyone is after you, I will protect you. Don't worry."
-----------------------
Caedir decided to speak up. "Keine-sama," she said, "I think Vandater shouldn't have to say a whole lot. She is quite obviously traumatized." She patted Vandater's shoulder. "It's okay," she whispered.

Vandater let out a sigh and said "I'll be fine... It's over. For now. I've... I've seen worse." Then she turned torwards Akyu and Keine. "It's strange, though. Such visions have never come to me before, and I cannot think of anyone in this world who would have reason to target me... Nor can I think of any Midgardians who would have reason to follow my people into Gensokyo. And the head. I kno-- knew that man. His name was Maurice. He used to train in the ways of the trident under my father... Last I saw him, he was still alive. I just hope--" She paused for a moment, retracting her claws and returning her eyes to a more humanlike dialation. "... I just hope my people are safe. Maybe... Maybe it was just an illusion. Created by my own subconcious. Maybe..." Despite these attempts to persuade herself, however, it was obvious that she believed these visions had meaning. She was shaking. She wasn't sure whether to be in shock or anger. She wasn't sure of a lot of things.

It was Akyu who responded, her face bearing an expression as serious as Keine's when she spoke. "I've heard many, many tales of people receiving visions which foretell disasters happening to their loved ones. You should return to your people immediately as this 'Maurice' may be in danger, if he has not already come to harm. If the vision turns out to be false then you will at least have peace of mind. Depart from this village as soon as you can."
Keine's face betrayed her surprise. "Leave the village? At this time of the night? No, it isn't safe. They should spend the night here and they can go in the morning."
"I don't think she will fall asleep until this matter is settled, especially if she receives any more such visions, and chances are the matter won't be settled until she personally confirms if Maurice is safe. Still, it's their choice." Akyu folded her hands and lowered her head in thought, not saying anything else.
Carlos felt that he had to reply although he wasn't sure if his words would be appropriate. "If Vandater needs to return to her people at this time she will be safe. I have seen for myself that she is skilled in combat and I can escort her if necessary as I am able to use magic."

Kitria was worried about Vandater. "She shouldn't go out there," she said. "Perhaps...I hope...there's another way to find out if Maurice is okay."
-----------------------
This was Caedir's chance. "Vandater won't go," she said. "I will. I will try to save Maurice and if he is dead I will not let whoever did it get away with it." Finally, something heroic she could do...provided Keine would spare her the chance.

Vandater looked amongst them. "No... I can do this. They... They're my people. My responsibility... I cannot... I cannot stand by when my people might be in danger... And, if indeed they are... I will find the assailant... I will kill him. I will RIP HIS SKIN OFF! I'LL CAREFULLY REMOVE EVERY BONE IN HIS FUCKING BODY!!! I'LL CHEW OFF EVERYTHING EXCEPT FOR HIS VITALS AND HE'LL BE TOO SCARED EVEN TO DIE!!! THEN I'LL BOIL THEM IN A RIVER OF HIS OWN BLO--"
Vandater stopped for a moment. She had lost control. Her eyes were nothing but black, her mouth was all fang, and her elongated claws dripped with the blood of enemies of years passed. The white of her eyes returned, and she shifted back into a form more acceptably human. "... Sorry. But it is a matter that I cannot leave alone. If any of you wish to help me along, that is fine. But... But I cannot just leave this issue to other hands. If my people are at stake, then I will do what I can to protect them."

Keine and Carlos, at least, were stunned into silence by Vandater's outburst. Carlos looked at Akyu to see how she would respond and he was shocked to see the tip of her mouth curl up slightly. Was she actually amused by all this? What was she planning?
Then she looked up and spoke, and Carlos could see that her face was serious again. The girl's voice was stern and devoid of any amusement he thought he might have seen a moment before. "I guess that settles it. Since Vandater herself wishes to return to her people we should not keep her here any longer. Keine?"
Keine opened her mouth as if to speak but the words only came a few moments later, as if her thoughts had failed at first. "I... I guess you're right. Vandater, you may return to your people as soon as you wish but be careful because I will not be able to protect you on the way."
That was something Carlos could comment on, and he did. "She will not be alone. I will follow her and protect her with whatever powers I have."

Kitria, who was closely comforting Vandater, jumped back upon hearing her angry words. "Calm down," she said. Then when Vandater apologized, Kitria breathed out a sigh of relief.
-----------------------
Caedir, however, was not surprised. If someone was hurting the Lunarians, she would HATE that person. However, her wise heart knew that killing someone was never the answer if you wanted to be a good person. "I'll go with her too," Caedir said after Carlos said that Vandater would not be going alone. Hopefully Caedir would be able to find a way to merely outsmart the villain and make sure her friends didn't run a sword through him/her upon first sight.

Vandater paused and thought. "Yes... I should give it a look as soon as possible. But... I'm going to need to make a stop at Kitria's place... I can't breathe underwater without my skin." She looked over at Kitria. "Uh, that is alright with you... Right?"

Keine had quietly left the living room as Vandater spoke. Soon she returned, just as quietly, with four small wooden boxes tied together with a length of thin rope. Akyu noticed her arrival and smiled when she saw that each box had a name on it. Her friend had packed what was left of each of the guests' dinners for them to bring on their journey and Akyu believed that Keine must have had to delve into history in order to match the meals correctly. Such attention to detail was typical of the village's guardian and schoolmaster.
Not wanting to interrupt the conversation that Vandater was having with Kitria and Caedir, Keine placed a hand on Carlos' shoulder to get his attention and passed the boxes to him. He was surprised at her generosity but he thanked her for the supplies before shifting his attention back to what the others were saying.

"Sure," Kitria said. "You can stop by my place...you remember where it is, don't you? In case you get lost, here." She handed her friend a map of Gensokyo.
-----------------------
Caedir took her box. "Thank you so much, Keine-sama," she said.
(OOC: I know, short, but Caedir didn't have much to say/)

"Thank you, Kitria," Vandater said with a bow as she recieved the map and made her way torwards the door. She turned to face the others and spoke. "Thank you all so much. Maybe we'll meet again someday but for now, well... I have to go. Bye," she said, before walking out the door and unravelling the map.
