Shion had been wandering Gensokyo for about the past two centuries or so, but never before had he been to the Garden. He'd just happened upon it and was amazed at how beautiful the place was. "Oh!" the boy exclaimed as he walked into the dense field of gold. The sunflowers towered above Shion's tiny form, almost concealing him. However, his dark hair and clothing were obvious giveaways in the bright surroundings.
As Shion made his way across the field, an idea that delighted him crossed his mind. The boy stopped where he was and turned to one of the sunflowers. He looked up at it with dark eyes and smiled. "These would make such lovely gifts for someone." Shion said. He could never know who he'd meet on his travels, but he tended to welcome strangers. Many people were unpleasant, however, disliking the boy because not only was he a yokai, but he might be considered something of a half-breed. After all, his mother had been a human. Shion never announced his heritage to anyone, but his gray hair usually gave him away.
Bending down, he pulled at the sunflower's stem and plucked it, laying the tall bloom in the crook of his arm. Shion continued to gather sunflowers, the bouquet quickly becoming larger. The boy hummed softly as he worked, unknowing of whether he was alone or not. Even if he wasn't, he certainly liked the company.

What a perfect day! At least, it was in Nyra's opinion as she flitted about the beautiful garden. It was by far her favorite place, and she felt quite joyful today (well, she did every day, but even more today, who knows why, just the way she is). She hummed a cheerful melody as she flew with the wind. The sun was out, and she loved it. Now she started practicing flying patterns as she flew in circles, squares, and spirals. Nyra loved to fly. It was one of the little joys of life. It was then that she noticed the young boy. So happy that she wasn't alone, Nyra flew over to him. "Hello!" she said.
