Time Flies (Genshuku)

[Schala]

A girl's fast-moving feet skipped across streams, mud, and long grass. Holding on to the runner's hand was a small youkai who looked no older than seven years old.
"I think we lost them."
Katriance panted right after she said the words. She and Aliana slumped down next to a tree. Who knew that the Fallen Sages would follow them all the way there?
"It's okay, Aliana," Katriance said, patting the little girl's shoulder.
Just then, Katriance caught sight of a figure in the distance*...

*(Mima.)

Ah, it has been a while, hasn't it. For a moment, Mima wondered what became of Marisa, then shrugged off the thought. With how she was before she had vanished, Mima knew she would get ran into soon enough. Perhaps literally. Hopefully not literally.

She then sensed a strong magic approaching...no, several. Worth checking out? Well it wasn't as strong as that god of Makai, but she needed a warm-up. Against who would be the question of the day.

Now, who would Mima be today? Perhaps she should wait on that one. The answer would come in time. For now, she has to deal with the people looking at her right now.

But, she saw no need to confront this person just yet. It was likely that they would confront her anyway considering that she was powerful enough to be noticed as such. That and she had no legs, instead, she had what one would call a ghost tail (but it's really a spirit tail). ....(Lie.)

So instead, Mima continued wandering the forest. However, her power aura was very much hard to ignore especially when one is running away from dark mages.

[Schala]

Katriance decided to speak to the person in the distance.
"Stay here, Aliana," she said.
She walked up to Mima's figure, and saw that this person was indeed a girl as she got closer, but was she friendly?
Well, the only thing to do was to see.
As soon as she was within a good distance, not too close but not too far away either, Katriance spoke.
"My name is Katriance Windwaker."

Mima knew that would happen. If she could read minds, she would wonder how there was any doubt that she was a girl, but as she couldn't, she didn't. Instead, she decided to chat with this power. Perhaps ask them what she was doing in the Forest of Magic with a little kid in a place with lots of hungry man-eating youkai.

Hm....was she to be the human world god again today? Well, she might as well go with it. Being bored did that. So she turned around to speak her false identity.

"And I'm the god of the human world. Nice to meet you.*"

*(This is a lie.)

(Short because Mima is not thinking hard right now as there's no reason to.)

[Schala]

The ghost girl was a god*? Or rather, a goddess?
Katriance knew she should speak up too.
"I'm a goddess too, although I'm better known by the title 'Spirit of Time.'"
And this girl seemed harmless enough, so Katriance called Aliana to her.

When Aliana reached Katriance, she hang back from Mima.
"Katri," said the little ocarina youkai in a small voice, "who is she?"
"She's a goddess of the human world," Katriance said.

*(Come on, she doesn't know Mima lied yet.)

(Just as planned of course. It's not like she would have had any way of knowing~)

A spirit of time, eh? Mima wondered how she hadn't run into her before Mima was rather ungracefully imported into the outside world for a little while, but that didn't matter now. What mattered was....nothing. Eh. How boring. Danmaku made things less boring. But, she was with a child, therefore making danmaku an unlikely subject. Ah, she was getting just a little bit soft. Stabbing random children would have been something on her to-do list back when she was haunting the Hakurei Shrine...but not anymore. Ah, the days.

Now, she was just bored. These people were boring. One was powerful, but both were boring. They almost seemed like nothing but spectators to her divine visage. Ho hum.

But as they called her a general god, perhaps she could further elaborate on her title, as a god of evil or something...hmm...

Eh, wasn't worth it at the moment. But what WAS she doing with a kid here?

"...What are you doing with a kid here, in the Forest of Magic which is filled with youkai that would gobble her up in an instant?"

Killing children was beyond her now. Scaring them? Sure, why not. Mima was bored anyway. And being an evil(well, once evil) spirit, this usually led to being mischievous.

[Schala]

"Well," Katriance replied, "Aliana is a youkai."
She'd thought it would be obvious with all the holes in the little girl's dress.
"I'm Aliana Ocarina," Aliana said softly. "Katri is my sis--protector."
Although the two did think of each other as sisters, they weren't birth sisters for sure.
Katriance began to explain. "Some Fal--um, evil dark mages were chasing us, and we finally lost them here."
The look of relief on her face was a sure sign that Katriance didn't think the Fallen Sages would return.

Mima did some basic 'fill in the blank' skills.

Sis--protector means someone it taking way too much care of this kid, and yet she's crazy enough to put her in the Forest of Magic? Hmm.

Fal--evil dark mages obviously meant Fallen Sages as that was the only thing that made sense (she heard about that group a long time ago, they weren't of much importance, perhaps they improved) Who they were, exactly, she didn't know. Impersonate them to scare these people for kicks? Hell yeah.

The look of relief that they weren't coming back was asking to be wiped. Mima obliged to the request. She was a god, but she was an evil god who worked for the Fallen Sages. PERFECT. Now, because these Fallen Sage characters were chasing them earlier, she could have heard from them....Oh ho ho. Make-believe hefty reward? Check. Screw with people? Check. Mima's ticket to satisfaction was on it's way to fulfillment.

"...Ahh, so you're the god that they were looking for..."

Mima thought of resisting an evil laugh, then realized it would actually help with screwing with them, then let it out. And what a practiced evil laugh it was.

[Schala]

Mima's plan worked.
Upon hearing the fake evil laugh, Katriance's look of relief was changed instantly to a look of fear, and then a gasp.
"You...you work for Nerys then?"
Katriance shuddered at the thought.

Aliana, who was too young to draw logical conclusions like Katriance was only scared by the laugh. Her grip on her adopted sister's hand tightened, and her whole body was shaking with fear.
"I want to get out of here," she said softly.

Screwing with these people is also educational? Sweet. Let's lie some more. The fake evil laugh was actually part genuine though, so of course that worked.

"Yep. I'm one of Nerys's best. And now that I recognize you, I suppose I should beat you up and take you there. Maybe the kid too."

Would she take them there? Eh, maybe. Depends. She might be able to find out where the person in charge is, get to them, then beat that person up too. In any case, first was first: beat up a god (again).

(Again)? Oh yeah, (again). Shinki was certainly stronger than this one, and Mima already beat up Shinki. So this one should be pretty easy pickings.

"Let's not hassle then~"

Mima then took out her crescent staff, and proceeded to lead off with ye olde rush attack* (and if the kid got in the way, the kid was a moron, sucks to be her).

Katriance had never seen this girl before, but nonetheless she was prepared. She pushed Aliana out of the way before rolling out of the way herself. However, she was blinded by the light and her left hand was run through by part of the staff.
She pulled her hand off the sharp crescent moon and began a spell of her own.
"Rising Water!"

Aliana was relieved to have been saved. She sat down by a tree trunk and watched Mima and Katriance with worried eyes.
And now, the wisdom of a child is shown. Mima looked absolutely nothing like the black-clothed Fallen Sages. Aliana began to wonder if she was lying. She didn't know why, but Aliana knew that Mima might not have told the truth.

Aliana's mistrust in her role was partly misplaced. Though she was not a Fallen Sage, she was going all the way to act like one just to screw with them. If that meant KOing both people, that was fine to her. She was bored anyway~

In essence, she was doing exactly what the Fallen Sages would have done. So it didn't matter if she was a fake. Perhaps she might go all the way in order to destroy the source...but first was first. Beat up a god for fun and profit. ...Ok, maybe not monetary prophet, but it's still profit in a sense. Emotional profit.

In any case, it was obvious that the water was going to come from the ground, and so floated away from where it was going to blast, which it then did, away from Mima. This was trival. Stage 1 or 2 trivial. Weak gods? Whoever knew there were such things.* What a shame. Might as well beat her up anyway.

Mima rose her staff again, then proceeded to do a regular attack pattern. Wave of energy butterflies, blue star attack**. She didn't even see the need to try harder. She could almost yawn.

The kid should probably hide behind a tree far away from her sister, as the blue stars could probably take out the tree, which were aimed at Katriance, but the butterflies would only knock the tree.

Aliana stood transfixed by the butterflies.
"How pretty!" she cried, trying to catch one.
Then one hit her, and it hurt. She let out a yelp and began to run around frantically, only to be hit by more butterflies.
"Help me, Katri!"

Katriance was banging the stars out of the way with her sword when she heard Aliana's cry.
She saw her sister being chased and hit by...butterflies?
It didn't matter. Aliana was in trouble!
"WindWaker Leap!" Katriance called out. She leapt off the ground and landed gracefully next to Aliana.
Then she grabbed the youkai's arm and started running out of the way of the butterflies.
Now that Aliana was safe, Katriance WindWaker Leapt back to Mima and attacked with another Rising Water.

If an attack was easy to dodge, Mima would dodge it.

If an attack was repeated, Mima would be able to dodge it easier.

When both happened, it was no contest.

So, as done before, Mima floated gracefully away from the attack, making it barely miss for graze points just because. This was no contest, the god of Makai was certainly harder than this. She was almost tempted to reveal everything out of complete pity...

As if. ON WITH THE SHOW.

"They actually had problems with getting you? Mhmmhmm."

She then changed attacks again, changing it to a rather high-powered storm of black and white stars twirling around a blast of morepowerful purple stars, all aimed at Katriance.* This left Katriance safe unless she accidentally directed the beam towards Aliana, in which case she had better watch out.

What was this?
Oh dear. As quickly as she could, Katriance Windwaker Leapt again. She landed behind Mima and slashed at her with the sword*, hoping the timestop illusion would last long enough for her and Aliana to make an escape.

Aliana just hid her eyes. Fortunately, the beam did not come her way. She just screamed.
"Katriiiiiiiiiiii!"

(*It's not like normal swords. It just does the time thing and nothing else )
