Name: Nadine Delarum
Nicknames/Titles: I prefer to be called "Nadine" or "Delarum." A few people can get away with calling me "Dine" or "Diney," but those people already know who they are. I generally ignore anyone that addresses me with anything but my name.
Age: 1255
Age Appearance: Approximately 24 give or take 2 years
Race: Kappa
Gender: Female

Ambitions/Desires:
Weapons: My weapons are the numerous machines I build. I am particularly fascinated with nanotechnology, so most of them are either very small, or are larger weapons that can shrink down to smaller sizes. Most of my weapons are very similar to outerworld weapons, except I work really hard to make them better. Most of my more recent technology is based on the nuclear energy that the kappa recently discovered. My pride and joy is a nuclear bomb thatfs about the size of the nail on my pinky.
My arsenal is quite extensive. I will have to do an inventory check sometime soon to find out exactly how many I have. However, despite the vast number in my collection I can only carry so many on my person. I normally keep at least five nanonukes in my sleeves. I keep a couple of guns and several rounds of ammunition in my backpack. I also keep a few plasma canons and a few other miscellaneous things too.
Abilities and Fighting Style: I possess pretty powerful healing magic. It can heal most wounds; even wounds that would ordinary kill someone, though it is not capable of bringing someone that has died back to life. I can use it two ways: first, I can use very little energy to cast, but it will take longer to cast. Or, I can heal my target immediately, but doing that takes a lot of magical energy. How much energy and how long it takes to cast depends on the severity of the wound.
Water makes my spells more effective. I have yet to find exactly how much more effective it makes them, but I do have a rough estimate. If any part of me is wet then my healing magic is roughly 50% more effective. If the area I am trying to heal is wet then it is roughly 25% more effective. If I am in a body of water that covers at least half my body then my magic is roughly 100% more effective. If the area I am trying to heal is completely submerged in water then my magic is roughly 25% more effective. If both my target and myself are completely submerged then my magic roughly 200% more effective. These numbers are just rough estimates as I have yet to do any research on it.
I try to avoid fighting whenever I can; I prefer getting other people to fight for me. However, when I do fight I do not play with my opponent; I try to end the fight as quickly as possible. If I willingly initiate the fight then that normally means I have every move I believe my opponent will make already planned out. I generally know most if not all of their strengths and weaknesses, I know what upsets them, and I know exactly how to take them down. The chances of me initiating the fight without that knowledge are next to zero. My style is very straight-forward. I attack with my machines and I heal my allies and myself when appropriate.

History:
DD, MM, YYYY: I became interested in technology at the age of three when my father showed me how to build a pulley. This was long before the industrial revolution in the outerworld, so I didn't lay my eyes on the technology that fascinates me now for a long time.
DD, MM, YYYY: I started to get really good at swimming. I could actually keep up with my mother. I was very proud of myself. It was around that time I realized I had healing magic as well. I scraped my knee on a rock and I was able to just make the wound vanish.
DD, MM, YYYY: Someone created a device that would allow the user to take an image and print It. They called it a "camera," and it was apparently made for the tengu (much to my displeasure). Thatfs when I started to get interested in outerworld technology.
DD, MM, YYYY: I noticed something very interesting about outerworld technology. Whenever it got "better" it got smaller. This made something click in my head; smaller objects were easy to carry and easier to use. Since then I have strived to make my inventions as small as possible.
DD, MM, YYYY: I found a book in a strange language. I worked very hard to learn that language. It took me about four years. Now I can read books in both Japanese and that strange language (I believe they call it English?).
DD, MM, YYYY: I found out about the shop known as "Kourindou." I became a regular customer after that.
DD, MM, YYYY: I finally ran out of money and started to get very frustrated. I never had enough to do the experiments I wanted to do. I never had enough to build all the things I wanted to build. It was starting to drive me crazy.
DD, MM, YYYY: A human attacked an innocent kappa that drifted into the Misty Lake for no reason. Or rather the reason was "it's a youkai, it should die." This kappa happened to be one of my friends, so I took this personally.
DD, MM, YYYY: I got an offer from someone that claimed to be a "general" in some organization. He would fund my projects, so I agreed to work for him for the time being.
DD, MM, YYYY: The red white shrine maiden decided to invade Youkai Mountain to punish the goddess that appeared at the top of the mountain. I didn't mind this too much, but it bothered me that she was the one that decided right and wrong.
DD, MM, YYYY: This general I was working under was actually working for someone else. I didnft know who this person was at the time, but I got a general idea of what his motives were at this time. I liked them, and I still agree with them. I started to work harder since this job was more than just money to me now.
DD, MM, YYYY: My employer ran out of money and materials for me to use. I got very angry.
DD, MM, YYYY: I found out exactly how incompetent this general I was working under was. The area under Gensokyo opened up because of the goddess Kanako Yasaka, and this general decided that it would be a good idea to attack Makai. He didn't get very far and scores of people were severely injured.
DD, MM, YYYY: Due to the nature of the organization I was working for I knew I was going to have to murder the general I was working under. The thought of killing someone bothered me for weeks, but when he said he wanted to try to take over Makai again I knew I had to do something. I simply shot him in the head and the heart while he slept. I figured that would be the quickest and least painful way to end it.
DD, MM, YYYY: Because I assassinated the general I worked under I ended up taking his place. I wondered what kind of twisted organization this was, but I could not ask the leader directly yet. I still believed in what I heard of his vision at least, so I decided to see what would happen.
DD, MM, YYYY: I only ordered my minions to gather materials and money for me. I do not condone senseless violence nor do I like it when people steal. Sadly, this did not stop a lot of them, so I have no way of knowing exactly how much of the money I gained was obtained in a moral way.
DD, MM, YYYY: I created something great! And not just one thing. The technology that Kanako Yasaka gave the kappa was really useful. I was able to create a bomb the size of my pinky nail. There's more than one version: one goes off when someone presses a button on a detonator. The other goes off approximately ten minutes after being set. I also started to create devices that emulate famous spell cards. I also created a device that allows people to communicate reliably over long distances. Itfs a microphone and a radio that easily fits into a personfs ear. It's very small, so it's practically unnoticeable.
DD, MM, YYYY: I was able to find a traitor in the organization before she was able to find out anything important and report it to anyone. Well, I suppose she did find out something important, but she took that information to her grave.
DD, MM, YYYY: Being a general was much harder than I thought it would be. I thought I was a good leader, but the lure of power was too much for some people to resist apparently. Someone tried to assassinate me. It was a very...bad plan to say the least. I showed mercy and didn't kill him. One of the worst mistakes of my life.
DD, MM, YYYY: The guy I spared tried to kill me again. This time it was just a simple gunshot to the head using one of my own guns for extra irony. I barely managed to survive. I still didn't kill him.
DD, MM, YYYY: The same guy tried to kill me again, this time with a very convoluted trap. I noticed it, avoided it, traced it back to him and still didn't kill him.
DD, MM, YYYY: He tried to assassinate me again. This time I was upset over an invention not working properly, so he put his hand on my shoulder. I thought he was trying to comfort me, but he pricked my skin and put a lethal dose of poison into my shoulder. I managed to isolate it and get it out of me before it spread though my entire body, but I was extremely tired for the next few weeks.
DD, MM, YYYY: The effects of the poison made me an easy target during that time. I lost count of how many times someone tried to kill me at 27. I didn't give any of them a second chance.
DD, MM, YYYY: I dealt with both people adoring me and people wanting to kill me to take my position. I no longer forgave any assassination attempts, and they went down after that. Apparently I proved that I was strong or something. Things were finally starting to go smoothly again.
DD, MM, YYYY: Somehow I managed to impress the leader and got the honor to work directly under him. I was very excited to finally meet him in person and to find out if I was working for what I thought I was working for. So far, it's made everything I've gone through to get here worth it.[/ul]

Age: 1255
Age Appearance: Approximately 24 give or take 2 years
Race: Kappa
Gender: Female
Appearance:
- Height: 5' 3" (164.592 cm)
- Weight: 124 lbs (56.2454 kg)
- Skin: Light, but not pale.
- Hair: Dark blue. Straight. Long, goes down to my knees. Normally down. Tied into a tight bun when Ifm working.
- Eyes: Dark green. I wear round, gray glasses.
- Face: Round. Cheeks are slightly chubby. Not so round that I donft have a well-defined chin.
- Build: Very skinny. Minimal muscle. Hourglass figure. Legs are longer than average. Narrow shoulders.
- Clothing: Normally tight. Normally neutral tones such as brown, black, white or gray. Normally wear short skirts. Normally wear black heels. Normally wear a white lab coat; I wear it like a cape.
Personality:
- I am calm: I think very well under pressure and it's extremely difficult to get me riled up.
- I am ambitious: If I want something I will seize it. I will often do this with little to no regard for peoples' feelings if I honestly believe the outcome is worth it.
- I am direct: I do not like wasting time. I say exactly what I think; if I think someone did something wrong they will know it. If I want something done I will make sure it gets done. I hate beating around the bush, and I hate it when people do it to me.
- I am arrogant: My mother once told me that I was the only person she knew that could look down their nose at someone that was taller than them. I think very highly of myself and everything I do. I take a good deal of pride in my work and I like to think that I am the best at what I do. I hate losing and I hate being wrong (though I will grudgingly admit when I am).
- I am impatient: I do not like waiting for things to happen. I can focus on things for long periods of time, but I need to see progress or I will start getting annoyed. I cannot stand wasting time; even a few seconds of wasted time is devastating in my opinion.
- I am serious: I don't have much of a sense of humor. While I am not offended by most jokes I rarely find them funny. I have no sense of sarcasm, so if someone makes a sarcastic comment I will generally think they are being 100% serious and I will react as such. I rarely joke myself and I will never use sarcasm.
- I am reasonable: Despite popular belief I am not stubborn. Rigid maybe, but not stubborn. I look at what works and stubbornly clinging to ideals when they won't go through without compromise simply does not work. Of course, I think youfre wrong if you disagree with me, but that doesn't mean I'm not willing to compromise to get things to work.
- I always keep my promises: Always. I will not make a promise, I will not make a commitment if I don't intend to keep it. Ever.
Likes:
- Water.
- Outerworld technology.
- Short skirts.
- Learning new things.
- Reading.
- High places.
Dislikes:
- Being touched.
- Stupidity.
- The color red.
- Spiders.
- Fighting.
- Senseless violence.
Greatest Fear:
- I am very afraid of being betrayed. To the point that I have become downright paranoid. I do not like it when people touch me, and if someone tries to approach me from behind they will be smacked at best, though they should not be surprised if I shoot them.
- I also have an irrational fear of spiders that I do not really understand. They scare me so much that I canft even be in the same room as one.
Ambitions/Desires:
- I want to send Gensokyo into the future. I want to create that industrial revolution that the goddess Kanako Yasaka wanted so badly. I believe that doing so will greatly improve the quality of life of everyone in Gensokyo.
- I want to create a stabilized, universal government in Gensokyo. Currently all beings that live in Gensokyo are at the mercy of the whims of a certain red white shrine maiden. I want to see a world where humans and youkai can live together in harmony.
- I want to see my employer's vision go through. I believe everyone in Gensokyo will benefit, even if his methods are a tad messy.
Weapons: My weapons are the numerous machines I build. I am particularly fascinated with nanotechnology, so most of them are either very small, or are larger weapons that can shrink down to smaller sizes. Most of my weapons are very similar to outerworld weapons, except I work really hard to make them better. The chances of me initiating the fight without that knowledge are next to zero. My style is very straight-forward. I attack with my machines and I heal my allies and myself when appropriate.
Strengths:
- I am extremely intelligent.
- I am completely immune to water based attacks and resistant to ice based ones.
- I am very strong in the water. All my weapons are water proof, my healing magic is stronger when I'm in the water, I can swim at very high speeds, and I can hold my breath for approximately four hours.
- I am an excellent actress. I can keep a straight face in almost any situation, and I can fake my emotions very well.
Weaknesses:
- I have an irrational fear of spiders. I can't be in the same room as one, if I know one is in the room I will leave that room (or if it's near the door huddle in the other corner of the room until it moves), and if I see one I will be paralyzed with fear for a about twenty seconds before completely panicking.
- I have poor endurance. I can't run very far or very fast, and expecting me to do strenuous physical activity for an extended period of time is just asking for disaster.
- I am physically weak. It doesn't take much to overpower me. I'm weak enough that I can't even use some of my own weapons due to the recoil.
- There are two things that can not only make me lose my cool, but make me become a complete nervous wreck. The first is spiders; the second is when my plans fail. I am optimistic and arrogant, so I tend to be overconfident. When things don't go as planned I react in about the same way I would if I saw a spider. Though, sometimes I might run, other times I might lash out with everything I have. It depends on the situation, and neither of those situations are good for me.
