Name: Your character's name. Some have a first and last, but some only have a first.

Nicknames/Titles: Any titles or nicknames your character has.

Age: How old your character is in years.

Age Appearance: Many youkai can live for thousands of years. Put how old they look according to humans here.

Race: Which race they are. Check the race list in the must reads section.

Gender: Male or Female

Appearance: How your character looks. You can use a picture if you want, but it is not required. If you use a celeb/anime char/video game char/etc. then be sure to post in the face claim.

• Height: How tall your character is.

• Skin: Details about the skin. What color is it? Do they have frekles? Pimples? Anything else?

Since a lot of people are having trouble with weaknesses I decided to elaborate a bit. If there is still any confusion do not hesitate to ask me questions.

Weaknesses: What your character is not good at. This can be physical, talent and personality weaknesses. Be as complete as possible. You must put at least as many weaknesses as you did strengths.

Since some people seem to have trouble making weaknesses and a lot of people keep fudging their weaknesses and making me rage, here are some examples of what is a weakness and what isn't.

-Physical weaknesses. Let's look at a typical nekomata for example. They can't move in water. That is a physical weakness. Having fragile skin or bones is a physical weakness. Being "cursed with awesome" is NOT a weakness.

-Talent weaknesses. Let's look at kitsune for example. Most of them are good with illusions. If your character can use illusionary magic but everytime she tries to make an illusionary fireball it ends up looking like cofetti that would be a weakness. Not being able to use an ability that your character doesn't have is not a weakness. For example, if your character is a water mage not being able to use fire magic is NOT a weakness.

-Persoanlity weaknesses. These are things that can get your character into trouble and are generally precieved as negative. Keleptomania would be a good example of this, sadism, air-headedness and similar things also quailify. Being extremely loyal or "too nice" are not weaknesses.

-Phobia vs. dislike. Phobias would be considered weaknesses, and when I say phobia I do not mean fear (a fear might count depending on what it is). Let's look at me for example. I have aracnaphobia. I cannot be in the same room as a spider. If I know there is a spider in the bathroom I will go outside to take care of my business. Yes it is that bad. Most true phobias will count as weaknesses unless they're something supid that doesn't exist in Gensokyo, such as cars. I might count a fear as a weakness even if it's not that severe if it's really good. Dislikes are not weaknesses at all. If your character dislikes trees, but can still walk past them with only a bad taste in her mouth then it is not a weakness.

If you can make a compelling case for a weakness then I'll accept it. Generally a few sentences will not be enough to convince me, so you'd better be prepared to explain in detail, or you should just pick another weakness. Also note that I allow canons to fudge their weaknesses a little since 95% of them are totally broken. Hope that clears some things up.

Sorry guys, I was starting to feel like I didn't "know" half the characters I was approving so I redid the app. I'm going to want much more out of the apps now, so no more just listing a few traits for personality and no more trying to give your characters less weaknesses by giving them only one strength. My definition of "complete" has changed as well. I highly doubt I'll be okay with only a single paragraph on personality or abilities and fighting style anymore.

So once again I'm sorry I had to make the app a little harder, but I feel like it was just too easy to make new characters.

If your character has already been approved you do not have to redo your app. I'll give you cookies if you do just because (I imagine I'll redo all of my apps), but I'm not going to force anyone to do stuff just because I decided to change the rules.
