What a success!
Kenare, having just left the Hakurei Shrine, was now walking through the bamboo forest on her way back to her mistress's home. She was wearing a cloak with the hood down, so one could see that she was clearly a rabbit youkai, and she carried in her gloved hands a bowlful of poisonous grasses that she was bringing to Eirin upon her request.
She was certain that she wouldn't run into any trouble along the way, as she wasn't taking the shortcut through where Mokou lived. It seemed as easy as pie.

Success is an elusive thing.
For while some are able to attain it just as easy...others aren't so lucky. One, Takushin Shirasagi should probably be the one who is the most unlucky in this category. Everything he usually does, ends up back firing on him in ways that even the gods themselves wouldn't expect.
For now though, he was simply scouting the bamboo forest for any intruders; his commander, Tewi, didn't really give him this order...more like he was doing this of his own will. There's been alot going on recently in the world of Gensokyo (can you really call it that?), and Takushin just wanted to make sure that everything was right in the forest near Eientei.
After all, if he wasn't around who would protect the rabbits from outside danger? Okay maybe, Tewi, Reisen and even Eirin and Kaguya (to which he doesn't exactly trust) could probably do that...but still, he's saw this as his responsibility ever since he's seen the residents of Eientei as his makeshift little family. A family to replace the other that was lost to him sometime ago...
Takushin continued to run through the thick bamboo before he arrived on what seemed to be a path of sorts. The ninja rabbit paused for a moment and looked ahead only to see the path stretch on forward. It would appear that he managed to stumble on one of the paths that led back home...
Ah well, at least he wouldn't get lost this time...

As Kenare walked, she recognized one of her fellow workers. He appeared to be scouting. Well, at least he hadn't been sent to the Hakurei Shrine.
"Hello Takushin," Kenare said.
She had heard his name being spoken by Tewi once, although she was unsure if he knew what her name was. She decided to say.
"I'm Kenare," she said. "You may know my name already. I work at Eientei under Reisen. And don't touch these grasses with bare hands. They're poisonous."

Takushin's lapine ears bolted upright at the sound of his name being called, turning around, he came to see that a moon rabbit was in the area now, apparently on her way to Eientei and also knowing his name which meant that she also had some affiliation with Eientei.
...Only, Takushin didn't quite know who she was...although the name did sound familiar. After a short pause, the ninja rabbit began to recall that Kenare was another moon rabbit who worked along side Reisen and Eirin, the latter being one of the bigwigs that ran Eientei. Of course, Takushin rarely saw her in person and only knew her in the same way she knew of him; through a simple mention. Regardless, this didn't mean that she was someone to leave hanging upon introduction...
"Oh, hello Kenare-san." Takushin replied with a friendly wave to the moon rabbit as he joined her side in walking back to Eientei. Even though he didn't know her that well, she was still a fellow rabbit and it couldn't hurt to chit chat with her for awhile, right? "Ah, I think I know of you; I've heard you're name mentioned alot by the other rabbits."
He then paused for a moment as he took in the last of Kenare's words; Poisonous...grass? Now it wasn't above Takushin to give her an odd look, but he decided against it and simply opted to ask her more on it. "Poisnous...grass?"

He had heard of her!
And he was giving her a friendly wave.
When he asked about the grass, Kenare said, "Oh, Eirin-sama sent me to get these--from the Hakurei Shrine, of all places. I had to disguise myself as a human and lie to Reimu."
She really felt about decieving the shrine maiden. Reimu now thought of Kenare as a friend, and she was sure that that would be short-lived if Reimu found out she was a youkai anytime soon.
"I feel really bad now," Kenare said, "about having to decieve the shrine maiden. But considering she hates youkai and all...I even paid her some money because I felt a bit sorry for her...am I crazy? I'm crazy, right?"
Kenare waited for the reply that would soon follow.

"Ah I see, I suppose she'll want to use it for some form of experiement." Takushin replied falling silent for a few seconds. He didn't really enjoy the idea of Eirin experimenting and what not. He's known that she sometimes likes to test her drugs on rabbits, which Takushin doesn't exactly approve of...but most of the times this has happened didn't result in anything serious so he decided it's best left alone.
Takushin glances up, as he heard Kenare mention Reimu. Hm, he only knew a little of the Hakurei maiden himself, only getting mild implications of their arrival to the bamboo forest during that Imperishable Night fiasco. However from what he's heard, Kenare's words are not to far off base. Reimu was a miko after all, so that meant that it was her duty to be rid of youkai or youkai like beings such as themselves.
Even so, he could see that the moon rabbit was feeling the pangs of guilt for having lied to the, otherwise, generous miko who allowed her to take the grass she needed. While it is true that lieing about her appearance was...how do you say, unscrupulous. However, if she hadn't of done so then Kenare wouldn't have been able to complete the task Eirin sent her out for.
"Ah, I don't think that's crazy," Takushin spoke in response to Kenare's question. "You did it to complete the task Miss Eirin gave to you, and I don't think the miko would mind that you gave her donations either." Which was true, the miko isn't exactly one to get much money, this he's heard from various individuals when he ventured to the village that houses all of the humans. "And if she comes lookin for you, I can back you up!" Which can be good or bad, considering one of two things; He's a ninja and/or he's not a very good ninja...

Marisa flew through the Bamboo Forest, yawning occasionally as she flew. For some reason, she hadn't been getting much sleep lately. Strangely, it didn't really make her any less energetic in her actions and general personality than usual, but she still FELT tired, which was annoying... Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that she got nightmares of various things happening involving Flandre...
From things like Flandre stealing her spark cards and using them against her, to Remilia sticking her into some weird cage that had the most cruel song imaginable playing at an incredibly high volume... The song was so bad it made her head explode. As it turned out, it did so REPEATEDLY, as she kept regenerating from her wounds while she was in it... Then Flandre came in and did whatever she wanted...
Marisa shuddered at the memory of that nightmare. It had ended with someone taunting them through some sort of magic circle and Flandre blowing up Gensokyo to get to them.
And then there were nightmares that DIDN'T involve Flandre, just Remi... But those were just as bad. Remi had somehow seemed to gain powers much like Yukari's teleporting her and Reimu around and ending up making them fight each other... Not to mention forcing her to fight lots of random people when she really hadn't felt like it...
Marisa had ended up mentioning this stuff to Alice, who then recommended heading to Eientei to get some sleep medicine from Eirin. So now she was flying through the Bamboo Forest, hoping that Eirin could help...
At some point as she flew however, she heard someone talking... And they mentioned Reimu. She looked around for several seconds before she realized where it was coming from, and she flew over there.
"Reimu wouldn't attack you if you were at her shrine," Marisa interrupted, "She's too lazy to do that unless you're being especially obnoxious. I've seen Remi and Yukari there plenty of times, not to mention that Kasha from the underground... Of course, if she's in an especially bad mood, then she might try to drive you off just for being there." She then paused, "Oh, and I'm Marisa ze~"
Marisa was obviously unrepentant for coming in and interrupting the conversation. Manners had never made much difference in what she said or did.

Kenare was just about to relpy to Takushin when a girl suddenly interrupted her and told her a lot about Reimu. This girl introduced herself as Marisa, and Kenare assumed her to be human as she knew Reimu well and could possibly--in fact very likely--be a friend of hers.
"I'm Kenare," Kenare said. "I work at Eientei. Right now I'm delivering something to Eirin-sama."
She then turned to Takushin. "It's okay. If Reimu ever did come after me, which I doubt she would do, I'm able to defend myself."
She turned back to Marisa. "You're a friend of Reimu's then?"

Ah, well this was unexpected, but the girl said her name was Marisa. Takushin knew next to nothing about this 'Marisa', save from what he was told during the same Imperishable Night incident Reimu appeared in. Even so, she seemed to know the shrine maiden, almost like that of a friend of sorts so that would mean she's a human...or at least one that's well versed in the magical arts.
"Ah, and I'm Takushin," Takushin said to the witch. "Sole ninja rabbit of Eientei and apart of Inaba Tewi's army of rabbits."
He then turned to Kenare and nodded. "Okay, but I'm here to help whenever you need it." Takushin goes to great lengths to help his fellow lapine, even if it puts himself at risk for harm. Although, it can be a bit troublesome when he's trying to help with somethings that usually...don't require such things...
Takushin was going to ask the same question to Marisa but decided to listen in instead to get his answer, since Kenare had already asked it ahead of time.
