Alice sighed, tugging lightly at her new set of ears. It didn't make sense at all how she had suddenly grown them, especially since she was no longer human, and therefore immune to anything that would have turned her into a cat youkai or such. Maybe Erin would know more about it...

Then again, with Erin's reputation, she wasn't sure if she wanted to become any more dependent on her than she already was.

Sighing softly, she added cat ears to her newest doll with a sort of reflective smile. Well, if she was going to have cat ears, might as well embrace it.

[Augen]

Well this was certainly odd... In all her life she had preyed upon many cat people before, and yet never had something like this happened. Ears were no longer round and hairless, and those tentacles looked more like tails now...

Still, Takoto needed not think of it too much. Finding a cure was more important... But thusfar she hadn't any luck in her search. She'd been all over the place, but she hadn't found much as far as a cure could go. She had however, noticed an increase in catpeople... And she had tried to shrug it off for a long time but she couldn't take it much longer. Somebody must know something.

"Hey Pussycat," our furry-tentacled heroine whispered, landing next to the first creature she saw... A magician. Blonde hair. Pretty. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but..." And with that Takoto placed a hand on the magician's behind before continuing. "... You wouldn't happen to be hiding a pair of tails under this skirt, would you?"

Alice jumped. How did she get snuck up on...?! "Uh, um, I olny have one tail... though I don't know how it got there..." She said, trying to analyze the situation. ...crap. If this was an enemy, they couldn't have picked a worse time. She only had a few dolls with her, and one was in the middle of repairs...

She stayed on edge, trying to make sure this newcomer wasn't hostile.

[Augen]

"Hmm... Hope you don't mind if I take a look. Wonder if it might be the same thing I got," Takoto said, not waiting for permission before crouching down and lifting Alice's skirt.

"Hmm... Nice... Unfortunately I've been cursed with eight of these things. The tails, I mean. Must be my anatomy. Different from most folks... Er, you wouldn't happen to know what's causing this strange contagion, would you," our beloved octopus girl asked, looking curiously at some tail.

Alice tried to pull away. "H-hey! Don't do that!" She said, trying to get her skirt out of Takoto's grasp.

What the heck?! She doesn't seem like an enemy, but WHERE ARE HER MANNERS?! Just casually pulling my skirt up like that?! Ugh!

[Augen]

Takoto let go of the skirt as the magician pulled away. Hmm... This one might need some persuasion.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend... But, if it makes you feel any better...," the octopussycat said, a blush appearing on her face. "If it makes you feel any better, you can look at my tails... Don't worry, I won't bite," she continued, as eight cat-tail-ish objects slithered from her back.

Suddenly the tails retracted, once more nowhere to be seen. "I'm sorry! I need to control myself. There are more important things than eating you out right now... Whatever this thing is, we gotta cure it! I have a feeling that somebody's behind this, and as much as I like these ears I am far from satisfied with the tails... What say we help eachother out?"

[dusk]

Crap. Alice thought. I'm nearly defenseless and being followed by... whatever she is. I have to get out of here...

"No thanks... I think I'll do just fine..." Alice told her. "If you don't mind, I think I'll be leaving now..." She said cautiously, nervousness clearly evident on her face.

[Augen]

"What... You're not going to help more little me find out what's causing this," Takoto said, feigning sadness, her newfound tails once again slithering outward. "Surely you could at least help me in someway... Information, a go-to, maybe some moral support... But no, the mean old magician is just going to leave me to the mercy of whatever is going on..."

Then Takoto sprang to the sky, swimming upwards about ten feet. "Listen... I doubt you want this anymore than I do," she said, her voice now true to her emotions. "So how about if I make you a deal... We assist eachother in getting rid of this curse, and I'll skip lunch today. Does that sound fair enough?"

[dusk]

"I'm not human." Alice stated. "...anymore. So I'm not anything a youkai like you can eat anyway." She told her. "And I'm also not going to let you try to threaten me into doing what you want. I'm stronger than you think." She said, partially bluffing. She was, indeed, much stronger than the youkai probably expected, but she needed more dolls for that kind of power, or she needed to open her book...

That was something Alice didn't want to do.

[Augen]

Takoto laughed quietly for a moment before starting to speak. "Haha... Not human, eh... Can't eat you? Who said I was planning to eat you? Well I guess I kinda-- Hell, I didn't even plan to kill you," she said, flying forwards so that she was about ten feet away from Alice.

"Nonono... My idea of a meal is a little different than most creatures'," she said, her tails writhing and shaking. "Heh, but then again, most creatures need to kill to eat. I'm just not a killer by nature. Make love not war, I always said... But I'm getting off-topic here. You really can't help me fix this, can you," she asked one last time. It was pretty clear that the girl didn't want to help Takoto, but Takoto still wasn't sure.

"... Well if you really can't help me, then maybe you'd like to show me some of that power you mentioned instead," she finished up, licking her lips in anticipation.

[dusk]

Alice was getting a pretty bad vibe from this girl... oh, why did it have to be now, of all times?! "Uh... How long would I have to help you again?" She asked, trying to make it seem more like she just didn't want to deal with the hassle of a spellcard battle.

"If it's not too long, I guess I could. Fighting seems more tiresome, anyway." The seven-colored puppeteer said. Alice was attempting to put a look on her face like Reimu's constant 'Ugh, what a pain' expression, but wasn't sure how well she was doing it.

[Augen]

"Fighting? Don't know what brought that up, but okay." Takoto's tails sucked back in, and to the ground she landed upon her feet. Her expression no longer showed desire or hunger. Like nothing had happened. Then she spoke.

"Oh don't worry. I don't think I'll need you for too long. I just need to figure out some leads as to why half the world's cat-eared and how to stop it. You magician types tend to know about this stuff, right?"

[dusk]

"Well, usually... but I'm clueless. I don't know of any agents that could affect youkai like us, especially not on a large scale like half the-" She paused. "Did you just say half of Gensokyo's cat eared? This reeks of an incident... but I'm really not the one to go to when things like this happen. You'd probably want Reimu, who's in the Hakurei shrine."

She nodded to her own comment. "If I know Reimu, she's already figured out what's going on, or is on her way to stop it."

[Augen]

Takoto's ears twitched. "Hakurei Shrine? That place still exists? Hmm... Certainly explains why people scream 'save me Reimu' so often. Always wondered about that... Anyway, thank you very much for the information," Takoto said, bowing before pushing herself skyward... But before she darted off she turned to face the magician girl. "Oh... Are you sure you don't want to come along? This Reimu girl might have some important information, right?"

[dusk]

"Why people scream 'save me Reimu'.... ...just who did I meet..." Alice thought, backing away. "N-no. I'm fine staying right here if you're going..."


That... was the dumbest phrasing I have ever heard come out of my mouth. Why am I being so stupid?! What is it about this girl that unnerves me enough to make those kind of mistakes?! ...If Yuka were here, she'd so kill me.
