Alone... Thoughtless... And forever drifting. Her body floated through the night sky, as it had for the past couple billion years. She had no reason to object. This was just the way things were. All she ever knew existed. Black above. Blue, green, brown below.
Then something pushed her. Down. Hard. Fast. A stone, moving at a very high speed. What was this feeling. Shouldn't be...
----------
Something from the sky was plummeting down. A streak of light? No, something more. And it was very bright. Almost blinding. But that wasn't bound to last, as it's journey downward finally struck ground, and through the bamboo forest roared the sound of a massive explosion. Which was odd, to say the least.
But it seemed nothing else out of the ordinary had happened. The crater, and whatever had caused it, just lay still as the sun began to peek from the horizon. Daylight dawned, and the morning went on as usual.

Katar walked through the bamboo forest. She just wanted to get away from Youkai Mountain for a day, due to the gossip about humans. Why did humans get attention they didn't deserve? Each one was a monster, and it was ironic as youkai were the ones called monsters. But youkai were innocent! And as for the human-eating thing that some youkai had, that was just a food chain. It was nature's life cycle. Same way Katar ate fish frequently, and the same way Nekomata favored mice. And the same way humans ate those rolled-up rice and vegetable-y fish things. What were those called again? "Soo-shi"?
BOOM!
The sound echoed across the forest. Katar wondered what had happened. Perhaps it was a human rampage! Perhaps that moon girl Kaguya Whatsherface was doing this! Last Katar had heard, she was keeping rabbit youkai as slaves.
Katar's feet took her straight to the impact sight.
"Is anyone hurt?!" she asked, alarmed.

No response came, as none was given. At the site of the crash there was not a single creature in sight... Likely, any that might've survived scurried off at the sound. More unusuall, though, was that at the source of the noise lay a huge crater, still smoking, which became a little more clear as the sunlight peeked into the forest.
Deep within the crater, something lay still. From the corner of one's eye they might think they saw a flicker of green... But to a close observer, it'd be clear that there was just a statue in that hole in the ground... And a very strange statue at that. Finely sculpted from a single stone, it looked to resemble a young girl curled in a deep slumber. Strange thing to be in a crater.

There wasn't an answer. Either people had died from the impact or it simply landed where no one was at the time. Katar dared herself to get closer, as she was afriad that humans may have done this in order to kill youkai.
Except the only creature she saw was something that gleamed faintly of green. She ran up to it.
It was just a statue. And it was nicely carved, too. The shape was of a sleeping girl. How clever! She wondered who had carved it. And she wondered what it was doing in the middle of a crater.
Perhaps someone had been carrying it and then dropped it and ran when they saw a meteor coming down. But then wouldn't the statue have been destroyed upon impact since there was obviously no meteor left? That theory had to be let go.
Still, she wondered...
She sat down next to it, trying to think of how it could be there.

Sui noticed the crash on his way to another forest and went to investigate. He arrived and hid in a nearby tree in time to notice another presence near the crash site. The youkai seemed to be pondering something and was paying little attention to his surroundings so Sui turned his attention to the center of the crater. He noticed an exquisitely carved statue of stone. The detail was too life-like though.
"What could such a thing mean." Sui whispered.
He decided to lock it away from the pondering youkai and wait until it left before examining it himself.
Sui stood on the branch and his eyes began to glow a deep azure blue. With the meteor having dried the area surrounding it, Sui had to reach out farther and deeper than ever before. Slowly water gather around the statue as the ground turned hard and cracked and bamboo started to shrivel. Sui focused more and fell into a state between consciousnesses and the surrounding bamboo started to implode violently as the water around the statue grew into a small, muddy pond. Sui balanced on one foot and twirled while holding his hands before his chest in a strange symbol. The water responded actively and erupted into a swirling mass around the statue that began to freeze into a solid mass. He leaped and fell through the air into the mass and came to a stop before the statue. He snapped his hands together and the water froze into a hollow structure with him suspended in that dream-like state before the statue. His eyes gave the interior of soft blue glow and there he remained waiting. His energy was near spent and it would take some time for him to reverse the drain of the magic on his body and regain full consciousness.

Suddenly, water appeared out of nowhere. Was it raining? Katar looked up. No, it was not. She looked back at the statue. There was still water around it. And the ground seemed to be cracking, so Katar instinctively stepped back.
"What in Suwako's name--"
Then some shriveling bamboo were suddenly imploding. Katar watched as the water became a large puddle of mud, and then a small pond. That same pond whirled up like a tornado around the statue and was freezing into ice!
"How can this be?" Katar wondered aloud. "It's not nearly cold enough for--"
Her thoughts were interrupted again. The figure of a man fell through the whirlwind-shaped ice mass and then land in midair right next to the statue. And she wasn't sure what, but something was giving the ice mass a blue glow.
"What in Gensokyo is happening?!" she cried.
