History:
Shinigami Gatsu was the death god of the moon. He hunted Lunarians who waned and grew old. He was not evil nor did he have a sense of superiority. He simply did his job and did it to the best of his ability. He did it for as long as he could remember which soon became meaningless to him. It did not matter to him so he forgot… but he knew that his scythe needed to be sharpened every century during the eclipse. He soon named it “Daigama no Kaiki Shoku”. He didn’t have any friends so he spent his days having stories of his past with his own scythe. It became an extension of his being in a sense. He always knew where it was, he always held it the same, and he always used it the same.
One century, Gatsu went to a blacksmith to sharpen it once again when the blacksmith told him that the blade was becoming too worn and that eventually he would have to replace it. Gatsu refused to believe that and demanded that his scythe be sharpened so that he could use it once more. He would return in one day to retrieve it. The blacksmith was exceptionally skilled and was able to recreate the scythe and made it exactly like the older one. When Gatsu returned, he saw the two blades and demanded for an explanation. The blacksmith told him that the blades are the same thing and that he should use whichever one he felt like using. Gatsu picked up the newer scythe by mistake, as the two scythes were identical to him in every way, and stormed off enraged that the blacksmith would do such a thing.
Daigama no Kaiki Shoku was left with the blacksmith, who told him before he put him in a shed, “There is no use for a dull blade.” For years he was locked in the shed. That is… until his 100th birthday alone. That day the blacksmith was killed mysteriously while doing business with a patron who was also killed. In fact… everyone within a 1000 foot radius died that day. Some say that it was the shinigami whose blade was swapped out that killed them all. Others say that it was the blade locked inside the shed that killed him and it will take your soul if you would come near it.
Dai however roams the world searching for purpose but bringing disaster wherever he goes.
