As its name implies, many youkai live here. Two distint societies have shown up here: that of the kappa and the tengu. The kappa live at the bottom of the mountain, and the tengu live near the top. While those are the two major races on the mountain they aren't the only type of youkai that live here. Many of those other youkai dislike humans, so most humans don't come here.
The resident gods Kanako Yasaka and Suwako Moriya and their shrine maiden Sanae Kotiya(all are canons) live in a shrine at the summit.
