This shrine was transported here from the outside world by Kanako Yasaka (canon) because she was losing followers in the outside world due to religious skeptisism. She decided that it would be better to lose all her faith (which is the source of a god's power) and transport the shrine to a place where she might be able to get more faith than to leave it there and watch her faith dwindle.
Suwako Moriya and Sanae Kotiya live here along with Kanako (all canon).
The shrine is a typical shinto shrine, and it is near a very large lake.
