[This happens several months, it's in the Spring, before Issun leaves home. Though I've mentioned part of the reason he left was his step-father, I want to give him further motivation. Let's see if rping brings it out.]
Though it was early in the morning, even before the sun was a up, sounds of someone working can be heard. "CH!" then a soft, "tssk." The sound repeated itself, about every ten seconds. It was Issun, who's been out there for an hour. He couldn't sleep, letting anger fuel him, Why wouldn't he let me go! So what if I have the chance to get hurt, that's what I would have to live with! It's not like I could never get hurt here!
Days ago, his teacher announced that he was moving and any student that's willing to come is free to go. This teacher was Richard Kullen, rumored to be from outside of Gensokyo. While that story was never confirmed; he's in fact Issun's Taw Kwon Do and magic teacher. While the boy wasn't the only student, he was the only who required his parent's permission. Issun's mother wasn't home, taking care of her sick parents. That left his step-dad.
Mom remarried when he was 5, a year and a half after his father left. Issun didn't know the exact details, but was happy Mom found someone to take care of her again. Sadly this Dad had one flaw. Every scar on Issun's body isn't just a story about how he managed to clumsily hurt himself, but also how he received a scolding and is asked to take on more restrictions. The only reason he take classes and do work for other people is by ignoring him. However, Mr. Kullen will not allow him to go. It's not good enough to say, My overprotective step-dad finally allows me to do something I wanted to do. Please don't ask him about it, he threatens to change his mind if you made sure I wasn't lying.
Other than having anger to vent out, he was ask by some girls to make a flower bed. They were pretty, but he wasn't doing it to impress them or anything. It's just because it's what he does, help others with manual labor. He was originally afraid that he might've not finished before he went. Sighing, "I got done too early... What am I suppose to do?" He didn't mean just that moment, but everything seems to be done around the village. The farmers have planted, the carpenters were finished with a recent job, and no one has any chores they won't get done themselves.
Sighing again, "What are you supposing I do, Dad? I like working around here, but... Nothing is better than training. I don't know if I would do it for a job, but I want to do it." The sun then peaks over the horizon. Issun decides to rest the hoe on his shoulders, letting his arms hanging over it. Content on spending sometime to think about something else.
