Kitsune jumped through the trees like a Nekomata or a flying squirrel or whatever. Her body looked like a flash as she pounced from branch to branch on the demon mountain. It was amazing that she didnt find someone yet today. She was so used to running into someone or veing chased by someone. Usually she annoyed some so she could have some fun but end up in trouble.

She jumped down from a nearby branch landing on the ground like a cat. Her tail flicked from side to side as she looked about listening to the air around, seeing if any others were nearby. When there was no answer the fox sighed so heavily that she plopped down onto the ground. She strained her ears back in annoyance and pouted forever. She pulled herself up, barely, and began to walk. Her feet made no sound what so ever and she looked about with curious eyes.

Her body moved slowly through the forest. Kit's arms crossed over each other with her right hand tapping on her arm. One time when she actually wanted to find someone there was no one.

xx time of xx month of xx year

It's finally time to test out the power that we've harnessed from that hell raven. The kappa fully intend to use this power for peaceful purposes, but I was able to get permission to create something great out of it for testing purposes. It would be much easier to harness for peaceful purposes if we knew just how strong it was. That is the purpose of this test. I have created an item with the explosive power of the sun. We believe that the people in the outerworld refer to this creation as a "nuclear bomb," so the kappa have decided to give it the same name.

Nitori wrote some notes into a small notebook. Today was an epic day in both the kappa's and Gensokyo's history. Today was the day they would find out the true power of the sun, the true power that Kanako Yasaka gave them. Nitori was literally twitching because she was so excited. This energy was going to revolutionize the way people lived! And on top of that she was actually abel to convince the leaders to allow her to make a bomb out of it, life was good. Truthfully, the reason she gave them was complete bullshit. They really didn't need to know "how strong it was," Nitori just liked blowing things up.

She made sure that no one would come here today. It would be very dangerous for anyone to enter the blasting site, as they...Well could be blown up. Nitori picked a place that was almost always relatively barren just in case someone forgot that today was the day that she would be testing the nuclear bomb. Of course, she only informed the people that actually lived on the mountain. Any visitors would not have gotten the memo, and that was part of the reason she chose this spot.

Everything was set up, and it was finally time to detonate the bomb. Nitori adjusted her green cap and bit her lower lip. This was one of the most exciting moments of her life. She pushed a little red button on a device she was carriying, and the timer on the bomb started to count down. She sat on the ground and prepared to take notes, but it was hard to sit still. The mere seconds it would take for the bomb to go off would feel like an eternity.

Then, she saw something rather distressing. Holy crap there was someone in the blasting area! This was bad. Nitori didn't think that anyone would be here today, so she didn't think that she would need to stop the timer. The bomb was going to go off in about 15 seconds, and that poor creature was still a good distance away from the estimated safe area. What should she do?

"RUN!" Nitori immediatly stood up and shooted at the person. "Get out of there, that whole area's going to explode!"

Kitsune pratically alomos fell asleep from the boredom she was going through. Why was the place so freakin empty, it was insane. Her ears jerked when she heard a voice. She looked behind her, her arms laying at her sides as she tried to see who was yelling. She could see something or someone she couldnt really tell. She stared at the figure and watched it move around. She strained her ears to hear the creature yelling at her to get away or something along those lines but Kitsune could hear a sound that sounded to much like a clock.

Her head jerked toward where she was headed to hear the sound coming from there. What did that little creature do, she would never know, but hey at least she found someone. A chill ran down her spine which meant to get away. Kitsune crouched down and made a high jump that pushed her half-way up the tree. Something was gonna happen and Kit wanted to know what so she traveled through alot of trees until she had landed in a tree next to the little creature who was yelling for her to get out of there.

Her hands slipped up onto the branches as the fox climbed up the tree to find herself at the very top. She held herself at the top keeping her eyes open for an movements.

Oh thank Kanako, it looked like the person heard her. As much as Nitori liked explosions, killing someone with said explosion kind of ruined their awesomeness, at least when it was unintentional. Unfortunatly the timer was still going and she still had no way to stop it. She really hoped that the poor thing would be okay. Next time she did something like this she would be sure to rope the blast area off, send out a memo to the regulars of Youkai Mountain, and attempt to find a way to let the other inhabitants of Gensokyo know what's going on. She would rather not ask the tengu to do that last thing even though they would be somewhat good at it because they were really annoying. Plus, she was sure at least one of them would want to write something about her love of massive explosions. Sure it would be true, but Nitori really didn't want anyone to know about that.

10 seconds

The person seemed to be making good progress. Perhaps it'd be able to make it out of the blast area in time. However, Nitori didn't really have time to watch her anymore. That bomb was going to go off in ten seconds, and she needed to be prepared to observe the explosion and to take notes. She stuck on a pair of black goggles with a translucent yellow material over where the eyes would go. It was a recent kappa discovery, but the kappa really weren't interested in hearing them anymore. She also activated a small barrier that would protect her from any dibris the explosion created. The trees should block most of it, the barrier was simply a precaution. Plus, she wanted to test that barrier one more time above ground this time.

5 seconds

Nitori heard something land near her, but it was kind of hard to see through the goggles. They were meant to protect the eyes from bright light, but that meant that she had to sacrifice her vision in dark forests like this one. She could only hope that it was that person that was silly enough to go into a blast zone.

Boom

The explosion was much larger than I originally anticipated. The trees and plants nearby were insinerated on contact, and some of the trees mere yards away from me were uprooted and thrown reasonable distances. I was actually quite fortunate here. It wouldn't have been shocking at all if I got hit by something more than some leaves or the remains of bushes. The hell raven must have some way to control her power so that she doesn't acedentially blow herself up, because it's quite clear that "nuclear fusion" is much more powerful than we originally thought.

Nitori continued to scribble some more observations onto the paper, and now it was time to get some exact measurements. First, she wanted to make sure that person was okay, though she didn't know where to begin to look. Considering what happened to some of the things in that area, it wouldn't be shocking if she was unable to find any remains. Nitori shuddered and tried to not think about that. She lifted her goggles to the top of her head and deactivated the barrier.

"Um...Hey are you still alive?"

It seemed like an appropriate spot to start as she started to search through the remains of the forest. She really hoped that person was alive. It would be kind of depressing if she weren't.

"Oh god......That is.....huge....." She mumbled as it grew bigger.

The fox covered her eyes from both the light and any rocks or broken off tree branches hit her. Her arm shielded her face as the fox ducked down a little. Her hair flung from side to side as the wind push against the tree and her. It took some time but when it was done she opened her eyes slightly, then looked out to where she was.

Kitsune stared in disbelief as she saw the forest where she was turned into a waste land. It was to bad that Kit ouldnt see the whole thing but she saw what the remains looked like. She looked down to see the little creaturemoing toward the remains. She was yelling and Kit guessed that she was looking for her.

The fox climbed the tree swiftly and quietly and landed on all fours at the bottom. She snuck forward until she was behind the little Kappa.

"Boo!" Kit yelled as soon as she was behind the little one who had nearly killed her.

Nitori continued to rummage through the remains in search of this person that might have gotten blown up along with the forest. So far she couldn't find any remains at all, and her questions seemed to fall on deaf (or dead) ears. OhKanakoohKanakoohKanako...This was bad. But this wasn't her fault right? She went out of her way to make sure that no one would come here today...No, she didn't do nearly enough. Just roping off the area might have saved that creature. She was beginning to feel rather depressed, but she really didn't have time to wallow in her own self-pity. It was time to look through the disaster area. Then something suddenly appeared behind her. Nitori literally screamed when it shocked her, and she ended up falling face first into the dirt.

"Uwaa?" she mumbled as she started to get up and turn around. Then she looked at the creature and froze in place. "Oh geez it's a zombie," she began to take off her backpack and look for some kind of an assult weapoin before her brains were eaten, but then she looked at the creature again. "Wait, you're not a zombie. You didn't die!"

Nitori was very happy to see that she was alive. Now she could enjoy the explosion without feeling any guilt! Huzzah!

Kitsune laughed as the little creature fell face first into the dirt.

"Thats watcha get when ya dont warn someone before hand." She smirked at the little kappa.

She smiled to see the little creature happy that Kit didnt die. She flicked her tail to the side and pulled up the girl to her feet by the arm.

"Whatcha thik you were gonna do if that thing had gotten me eh?" She asked jokingly while laughing a bit.

"But I did warn everyone..." It certainly wasn't Nitori's fault that she didn't get the memo. "Ah, well...If you had gotten caught in the blast there would be nothing I could do. You would be dead, and it's likely that I wouldn't even be able to find any of your remains. It wouldn't be at all shocking if you were just insierated on contact."

Nitori stood up and brushed herself off. She didn't think that it was at all gruesome for her to describe what might have been this person's death. That's exactly what would have happened if she hadn't gotten out of there fast enoug. It was simply fact. Nitori looked at the blast area again. She never would have dreamed that she would have come across such power. Sure, everyone knew the sun had vast amounts of energy, but seeing the effects right in front of her was just so...incredible. Kanako wasn't kidding when she said that this could revolusionize the way the people of Gensoky lived.

Nitori turned around and continued taking notes on the affects of the bomb. The person was safe, and that's all she really cared about. The blast was far more intersting to her.

Kitsune stared stupidly at the one who caused the explosion then to the explosion itself. Her tail flicked when she saw the kappa turn around and starting to take notes. What is with this one...? She wondered and neeled down to all fours. Her hand swept the ground and it felt strangely cold and fairly dry. Her ears drooped and she looked at the kappa.

"What was that bomb exactly?" She asked as she stared as the kappa made quick note taking.

Her tail flicked from side to side and she moved back up onto her twos and walked forward a little, observing the damage. She moved a few pieces of broken logs and slowly moved her tail across the ground, letting it pick up sand and dirt. Her ears straightened up as she moved through to a different spot Her tail picked up different particles as her hands sorted through the mess.

Her face grew expressionless when she searched through more. Once her tail felt heavy she moved it toward her hands and examined it, checking the soil for any tainting.

"Lets hope that your bomb wont cause any tainting kay?" Kitsune said and looked over to her with a slight smile.

What was it? Didn't she know? Nitori was under the impression that the tengu decided to be obnoxious again and spread a rumor about the current kappa project, even though the kappa politely requested that it remain a secret. Most people seemed to know about the project, but considering this person didn't know that she was going to be testing a bomb here today maybe she just hadn't heard about this either? Or maybe she thought it was just another stupid tengu rumor? Regardless, it was nice to hear that there was at least someone that didn't know about this.

"I'm not allowed talk about it. It's a secret kappa project."

Nitori continued to survey the area, she didn't even look back at the person when she spoke. Work was serious business after all. The area did look pretty devistated didn't it? This was so awesome, she never imagined that such a small thing would be able to cause this much damage. Stars were practically forming in her eyes. Wait...Hmm...Could this be potentially bad for the enviornment? She would have to monitor this area for a few weeks just to make sure. She was pretty sure everything would be fine though. Nature was quite resiliant.

"Mmmm, everything should grow back eventually. I wouldn't worry too much."

Kitsune brushed off her tail and yawned a little. She waved her tail around for a little bit then walked toward the one who seemed more intrested in the explosion than anything. Her mischevious side was begining to take its action.

" Top secret eh? Well I heard it was suppose to be a nuclear bomb with the power of the sun." Kitsune joked and began to laugh a little.

When her mischeviousm begins it was hard to get rid of and she pratically took the most wildest guess in the world. Her ears flicked and she put her hands behind her head, holding it up somewhat. She kneeled down and poked the ground.

"Am I right?" She joked some more but this time with a creepy little smile.

Jerk. Why did people pretend to know nothing when they did know something...Hmm, probably not the right way to phrase it. Most people would do just about anything to stay out of a tengu newspaper, and Nitori didn't blame them. Fair enough. The better question would be, why did people pretend to not know something about something that's practically common knowledge and would do absolutely nothing negative to them if they said they knew something? It's a little wordy, but it certainly summed up how she was feeling right now.

Nitori didn't turn around, or even flinch when she said that. If she weren't glaring at the dirt no one would even be able to tell that she was rather annoyed right now. She simply continued to examine the ground. She was feeling a bit hungry right now though, so she grabbed a cucumber out of her backpack and started to eat it rather angrily.

"As I said before, I am not allowed to talk about it," she sighed. "I'm glad you're alright, but I really must continue working."

Nitori couldn't help but think that there was something rather odd about this area, but she couldn't quite figure out what it was. She's probably have to keep coming here for the next few weeks so see how the area was recovering.

Kit watched the girl act angry and chuckled a little at least to where she knew she was getting some where. She shrugged and picked up a rock from the ground and it broke to pieces in her hands. She flicked her ears and strechted out her tail and curled it.

She looked back to the koopa and watched her it her cucumber and yawned a little. Her stomach had a warm feeling to it which was another way to tell her that she was getting hungry. She sighed a little and began to look around the devistated area.

Her eyes turned to slits and she looked around the area. On her outsides she was perfectly natural but on the inside she was begging for something to eat. Her tail twisted as she saw the food disapear into the kappa's stomach.
