(open) oni?...

[Genshuku]

Though the oni in reality indeed came back to Gensokyo, no one here seemed to know. However, there was only 2 oni that people even knew about, one being so powerful she could break the moon and caused everyone to party (this one being Suika), the other generally being underground anyway (Reimu and Marisa had ran into Yuugi while investigating the events I shall simply call Subterranean Animism). But it seemed no one else here noticed this. Heck, even the rumor originator knew already, but in any case, seeing an oni now a days is such a rare event that people had to talk about it. Besides, this one was more of a fierce beast than the others, who looked quite like little girls in comparison to Caramon.

In any case, Drevin had asked something. Well, it seemed that he asked something to Gen, it seemed like a subtle hint to not say anything. People would continue to look, and once they found the oni, it would get bad. So, this would be something that required a little bit of investigation later, to find out more about the oni. It would be a good idea to defuse the rumor now that she knew that the guy just had a grudge because his entire race was wiped out.

...Bad way to sum that up, but yeah.

In any case, might as well answer:

"Indeed. People can be quite troublesome..."

Though Gen was one herself, (and thankfully no one really knew...and she didn't even know if she actually WAS human) she agreed with herself.

As for the drink...nah, it would be a good thing to stay sober.

"I'll pass on the invitation, but thank you for offering~"

caramon nodded and stopped
"in that case i sould take you two to the lift"
he walked off
"this way"

drevin shrugged and followed him

Well, it seemed that there was nothing left to be said. Genshuku was happy to go back up above ground, it was pretty dark down here.

"Sure~"

Gen then followed Caramon, presumably to the lift.

as he did other oni gave drevin and genshuku wierd looks
when they were there caramon grabbed a lever and looked at the two
"this place is the oni's last saintuary...be not ruin it by leftting human filth here"

drevin stepped onto the lift

Well, it was rather intimidating to have all these oni looking at them so oddly, but as long as they didn't attack, it didn't really matter.

It occurred to Gen that if someone knew that she knew where oni were located, that insane individual might try to offer money to find out where they were. Gen decided that that would be a bad trade ahead of time, because then she would be dead, or a whole race would be wiped from the map and she would have to be responsible. Yeah, bad trade. Instead, not saying anything was actually the rational choice. Because for some reason, it wasn't before...oh wait, it was. Great confirmation.

"Not in a million years...and not even then."

Gen stepped onto the lift as well.

"see you two later"
caramon smiled and pulled the lever
the lift took them above ground in a cave that was out of sight
caramon then used his earthmagic to fix the hole they had made

"well im glad to see caramon is okay"
drevin marked something on the wall and started to walk off
"and im glad to have met you genshuku"

Well at least the oni that was leading them wasn't sour like the rest of them seemed to be (though even he was at first). In any case, it was about time they got out of there, though the oni didn't seem like a bad person. Anyone who disagreed with the person part should be eating dirt, literally. Gen would try to force said person to eat dirt.

"Same, bye Caramon~"

And the lift went up. Surprisingly(?) it didn't break. This was followed by rumbling, which Gen assumed was the hole they made getting fixed. And then they were in a cave. It was indeed a good thing that his friend was ok, and that the entire race was. It should also stay this way as even if humans decided to say they would have peace with them, it would eventually flip-flop.

"Though I didn't really know him, I agree~"

And he started to walk away.

...!

It should still be the full moon, and the area should still be infested with less than friendly youkai around. And she still didn't have her gravity control powers, so going out there again would be suicide. Gen was not feeling suicidal, so yeah...

"W-wait! It's still the full moon, so if I go out there alone...well to put it bluntly, I would die. Horribly."

"as for as anyone is conserned your a launarian"
drevin smiled and sat down
"but i guess i have nothing better to do so i'll stay here"
he looked at gen
"so where are you from?"

[Genshuku]

...A sad thing, that she didn't know what a Lunarian was. Of course, 'Lunar' did have something to do with 'moon', so she had already assumed they came from the moon. But, she might as well not lie again. Besides, the other 'lie' might have been true, as far as she knew. In any case, might as well say it.

"Actually, I don't even know if I am one or not. That's a long story."

And for the where did she come from, another long story, but one she decided to sum up:

"That's a long story too. I actually come from the area outside Gensokyo. If you've read the Bunbunmaru newspaper, I happened to be the one in what really was not a torture chamber, but some kind of ship I accidentally stumbled into. Good thing too, people back there were jerks."

Well, that was the news, usually wrong. Even this was the same here. And the people in the outside world were jerks alright, just because she had the power she did. Hell, she was adopted, and the adopters knew nothing about her power. They also didn't like it, resulting in a life of hell. It sucked, but now it's over.

drevin stood up and sighed
he looked at the lift
"you came from the other side of the boarder"
he walked over to her
"as far as im conserned your just like me...someone without a home"
drevin smiled
"lets go then...i'll keep you safe until the full moon goes away"

[Genshuku]

Indeed she did. Thankfully, she was smart enough to stay alive in this world instead of getting eaten by the bad demons or whatnot.

"Yep. Though I might end up being a Lunarian anyway. I wouldn't know, never knew my real parents."

Drevin then pointed out what Gen knew all along, and sure enough, he was on the same boat as she was, albeit actually being from this world.

"Yep, a wanderer without a home..."

He then offered to protect her. Gen was happy to have a protector, as he didn't seem like the kind of guy that backstabed. Those people certainly existed.

"Thank you~"

And when he walked, she followed.
