Greetings people of the outside world! I am Aya Shameimaru, a humble tengu reporter from a world that was sealed off from this one. I must say this place is fascinating and--Well, I suppose none of you want to hear about the world you live in, so I'll tell you a little about mine.

A few hundred years ago, before my world was separated from this one, a particular area of Japan was infested with man-eating youkai. I suppose "monster" or "demon" would be a somewhat accurate definition of youkai, but "mythical creature" is more accurate. Anyway, as those youkai became more aggressive the humans knew they had to do something about this. So, a group of brave humans went to that area and created a great barrier around it. That barrier is now known as the Great Hakurei Border, and it prevents people from the outside world from going into Gensokyo, my world, and the people from Gensokyo from going into the outside world.

Gensokyo is vastly different from the outside world. Youkai are more common than humans, and magic is as common as rice. Modern, outerworld technology is very uncommon; only a few groups develop and use it. Gensokyo is--Wha? Yukari, what are you doing?! Wait, no I'm not done talking! Argh~



Well then, now that I, Yukari Yakumo, have sent her back home I can explain things that ordinary mortals could not possibly understand. Illusionary Village Gensokyo is based off of the shooter series "Touhou," but you don't have to know anything about the games to play. It's basically a fantasy RP that uses Japanese folklore and mythology instead of western mythology.

Why should you join?

• The admin has an unhealthy obsession with the games, so she will not just abandon the forum.
  
  
• It's an established site with active members. It was opened September 23, 2008 and is still going strong!
  
  
• It has a friendly community that is open to new members of all experience levels.
  
  
• The admin believes in "borderline anarchy," so she will not put unnecessary restrictions on you.
  
  
• The plot is rumor based and very easy to jump into.
  
  
• This forum is the only site that is based on this series in all of Proboards.
  
  
• It has not one, but two beautiful skins for you to choose from. One uses light colors and the other uses dark colors, so there should be one that is to your liking.
  
  
• And finally I, the great Yukari Yakumo, am there. Isn't that reason enough to join?

Upon reading, I would like to further glamorize it by saying it is also the only board at all (minus one that never lived) that is the only RP based off of this series, anywhere. Trust me, I looked all over for this place, only one I could find, I was seriously expecting there to be more of these, yet there wasn't. Unless you found one, which I doubt, because I tried to find more of these after this one. Perhaps that's why I'm so fixed to the site...
