She sighed. "Please, call me Reimu... and it's a pretty long story." The shrine maiden gave a glance at his notebook. "There's two types of grasses that grow next to each other out there. A type of medicinal grass, and that. Catgrass. It has a strange effect on humans and youkai, slowly turning them into cats..."
Reimu looked down. "There was a mixup one day when I had left to go train in the mountains. When I came back that night, I found myself trapped outside of the shrine due to a barrier. It took me over a year to break through... to find a bunch of cats where my family was."
"They knew it was too late for them. And so they stopped me from getting infected, too. And so, now I'm the only Hakurei left."

Marisa had gotten her medicine from Eirin, so she decided to head to the shrine since she was bored. Sure, she could have gone out and beaten up Youkai, or she could have worked on her magic some more, but... She didn't feel like it today. And she always visited the shrine for at least a little while every day, so it wasn't as if it was anything unusual.
What was odd though, was that she had a strange itchy spot on her lower back... And there were just a couple spots on her head that felt weird... Well, she supposed it didn't matter.
The shrine came in sight, and Marisa noticed that there was someone standing there talking with Reimu... Which was unusual. Someone talking to Reimu and it not looking like a fight was about to start, or like she was trying to ignore them. Perhaps she was in one of her rare good moods?
Marisa flew toward where they were, and said, "Hi Reimu! Who's this guy?" Of course, she completely ignored that there was a conversation going on.

"My greatest apologies, Reimu" Percival stated, bowing his head slightly. "I did not mean to bring up something so painful." Turning his head towards the new arrival he answered her question, "Well, while I may not be Miss Reimu, I certainly believe I am able to answer your question. Well, then, Greetings, my name is Percival and I'm somewhat of a roving compiler of knowledge." Percival stated.

She sighed. "It's nothing, really." Reimu then looked up at Marisa. "You missed your cue. Let me guess, you heard something about a castle in the forest of magic?"

"Compiler of knowledge huh?" Marisa said, "You might want to visit Patchy at the Scarlet Devil Mansion then. She knows a lot of stuff." She then turned toward Reimu. "Castle in the forest? Yeah, I heard about it. I saw it too. I didn't feel like going in just yet since I'm tired from lack of sleep lately."
Not that you'd think she was at all tired just looking at her. Or listening to her. She was still her normal, cheerful self. "And what are you talking about, my cue?" she said, "I would have been here earlier if I hadn't gone to Eientei to get some medicine."

"You went to Erin for medicine? What could have possibly been that bad?" Reimu joked.

Percival followed along in the discussion, writing it down in his notebook out of habit. Though, there wasn't really any reason to record something so casual as this.

Marisa paused, before answering Reimu. "Let's just leave it at, I can't get away from Flandre or Remi even in my dreams..." She shuddered at the memory of some of those nightmares. Actually, she still wasn't sure that they weren't real... They were still burned into her mind...
Reimu no doubt knew quite well about the abuse the two vampire sisters put Marisa through. Hopefully she'd be able to guess that the nightmares were more than enough to keep anyone awake... Since that was EXACTLY what had happened the past few nights. Those two were about the only ones capable of making Marisa not so cheery...
"And so," she continued, "Since I couldn't sleep, I went to Eientei to ask for a medicine that would let me sleep without dreaming..." She then paused again, and said, "Maybe we should talk about something else?"
Remilia was bored. Which... Well, actually wasn't nearly as bad as when Marisa was bored. At least Remilia had never been responsible for a lot of destruction. Just made things a bit cloudy... With red clouds...
This time, she decided to head to the Hakurei Shrine and see about messing with Reimu's head a little. She began pondering how to do that... Maybe she could leave a sizeable donation, and then have Inu come back for it and leave a note. Of course, she'd blame someone else... Perhaps Yukari.
As Remilia got close to the shrine, parasol in hand, she heard her name being mentioned. While she was still just out of sight but within earshot, she said, "What was that about not being able to escape me?"
She then walked into sight, and looked at Marisa. "That's a rather interesting look you have Marisa. Those tails look surprisingly real." There were two catlike tails sticking out from the back of Marisa's skirt, strangely looking like they had ripped straight through the fabric rather than peeking from underneath. One was an orangeish color, the other appeared to be a dark blue, nearly black.
And suddenly, two cat ears popped out through the rim of Marisa's hat. They were both the same dark blue color as the second tail. Remilia jumped slightly when they appeared, but she soon was unable to hold in a chuckle at the sight.

Reimu's eyes widened, and she tossed Ofuda around her, creating a barrier. With what was outside her house there, she had no doubt in her mind what was happening to marisa - and that she had to stop it from happening to her.

Mindful of the story from before, Percival was suddenly rather glad he hadn't offered to anything other than a greeting. Stumbling backwards, he moved away from the human and took out one of his javelins. "My apologies for keeping a weapon on me Miss Reimu" Percival stated, but he kept it trained towards Marisa. "I'd rather prefer you not approach me Miss Marisa, I don't wish to catch something such as that."
