Remilia was glad to hear that Percival was enjoying the party. "Thank you. I've done my best to make sure this was as enjoyable as possible, and it's good to know that you're enjoying it, even if I can't well interview every single guest to see if they feel the same, for obvious reasons." She looked at all the guests, from her somewhat raised section of the room, which actually resembled the area around a throne. The chair she was sitting on was rather reminiscent of a throne as well...
The young vampire noticed one of her maids heading in her direction. What was her name again...? Oh! It was Akane. She hadn't been around nearly as long as the rest of the staff, so Remi hadn't become so familiar with her as she was with, say, Sakuya. Though she did stand out from the fairies that made up the bulk of Remi's servants...
Akane did indeed have something for Remilia, a piece of paper held in her hand as she called out to her mistress. "Thank you Ake." Remilia said, as she took the note from the maid's hand. As she was about to read it, she heard Percival idly comment that it might be interesting to work in the mansion.
Remilia responded to him, "If that's an offer, I'm sure we can speak and arrange something." before reading the note that she'd been given... When she looked up, she appeared slightly shaken. "What... What is this?" She shook her head, "It's like something a stalker would write..." She looked back over at Akane, "Ake, I have a job for you. Would you go and keep an eye on this Kitria girl? She appears to be some sort of platypus youkai, it shouldn't be difficult to find her."
After taking another sip of tea, she looked back toward Percival, "Now that that issue is out of the way for the moment... You were saying something about possibly working at the mansion? I could always use more servants, if you are indeed interested. The fairies are plentiful, but sadly lacking in their ability to do much of anything. Akane and Sakuya are the only non-fairy maids, and they do almost all the work around here."
Remilia was obviously rather interested in the idea of having someone else working at the mansion. It was so difficult to find good help... Sakuya was quite capable of handling absolutely everything in the mansion by herself, but she probably would prefer not to have quite so much work to do, even with her abilities. And Percival did seem like something of a scholar... Perhaps Patchouli would be interested in having someone such as him around to speak with as well. "A secret? Come on, tell me!" Rumia acted like an impatient child when the shadow spoke. Which... Was really to be expected. She did look like a child, and she was like a typical child... Naive, selfish, could seem to be not exactly that smart... Alright, she WASN'T smart. She'd probably be the kind of kid that would fail preschool. Which didn't exactly make the fact that she was still alive less of a mystery.
However, then someone else came under the table, and Rumia looked over curiously. "Who're you?" And then, the inevitable question, "Can I eat you?"

It seemed that the mistress wanted Akane to spy on the person who had left the note. "Okay, Mistress Remi. I'll keep my eye on the creepy stalker!" And with that she started to fly away for a moment before quickly returning to ask for details. "Um, Mistress Remi... What does this Kitria person look like? And what's a platypus?"
----
Oh, dammit. Looked like our undercover agent wasn't the only one who had use for this table. But why were there a couple of girls already in here? And did she really just ask that?! Better keep it steady, Augen. "Uh... I'm one of the maids here... And no, you can't eat me..." Yes... That's good. Keep your legs closed so they can't tell. And hurry up and make up a reason for being under the table! "I, uh... I thought I heard some noises coming from under this table. I hope you weren't planning any mischief against the other partygoers, were you?!"

Kitria decided that the best move was to let Remilia come to her. It was only polite, after all. She got some more sushi and sat down to eat it. It was a shame that there was a lack of vegetables and seaweed wrapping, but the residents of this mansion were vampires, so it only seemed fair.
--
Saeryin was not going to tell this annoying girl anything. She crossed her arms, although no one could see it within the shadow.
Suddenly, someone else came under the table. Great, just great, thought Saeryin. The last thing she needed right now was people yammering at her until she revealed her theft.
On second thought, perhaps this was the wrong thing to do...what had she been thinking? She dropped the ruby while the annoying little girl asked this new person if she could eat them.
This person said no, they were a maid. A maid! Now there was no way out. Anyone could see she had tried to steal that ruby. But, she thought, how will she know it came from me?
Saeryin released her spell and answered the maid's question.
"No, I'm sorry. I'm not planning any mischief. My...er...friend and I are playing hide-and-seek."
Then she remembered her katanas were still drawn.
"The version with katanas?" she said as innocently as she could.

"Oh, working here? My offhand comment earlier, of course. I'd really, actually be fine with it. A job under you wouldn't be too bad, most likely." Percival stated, before his eyes slid towards Akane. "So, the rude girl from earlier is a bit... disturbing in her actions? Well, that's an interesting development." He muttered.
He reopened his book to write again. This event really was quite interesting, so many things to write about.

Remilia sighed. Of course Akane wouldn't know... Remilia sometimes forgot that some people weren't quite as educated as her. Things such as platypuses weren't well known in Gensokyo... "She has dark, wavy teal hair, and a wide, flat tail. As far as what a platypus is... Maybe I'll explain it later. For now, just deal with her."
She then turned back to Percival, "Very well then. Let us negotiate a contract once this party is over. In the meantime, I believe it's your turn to think up the next topic for conversation?" She took another sip of tea as she awaited his response.
This certainly was turning out to be quite an interesting night. Not only had she potentially gained a new staff member, she apparently also had a stalker. Marisa getting into fights was nothing new, and Remilia wasn't entirely surprised by Yuyuko having eaten one of the guests. Last time the ghost princess had visited, several fairies had been the victims of her hunger. Of course, they couldn't escape the mansion, which would violate their contract with Remilia~ And contracts with the Scarlet Devil, or any other devil, were unbreakable, on both sides.
The new person said that she was one of the maids here. Or, Rumia assumed it was a she. She'd never heard of a male maid before. She then asked if Rumia and the shadow were planning any mischief. Rumia cocked her head. "Mischief?"
Then, suddenly, the shadow disappeared, to reveal a person, who said that she wasn't planning anything, just playing hide-and-seek. Rumia was confused, "I thought you said this wasn't hide-and-seek?" However, then she noticed something on the floor, next to the girl. "Ooh, sparkly~"

"HOLD IT," the maid said, pointing Judge Judy at the carnivorous little girl. "I'd like to take a look at that ruby there, if'ya don't mind." And with that Augen held out her his hand, waiting for the crimson gem.
----
"Alright, Remi. I'll watch her like I watch mold form," the little maid said before extending her tongue and helicoptering away, scouting over the crowds in hopes of finding the creepy stalker girl.

Well, that was it. Little Miss Can-I-Eat-You had just given Saeryin away. She supposed she should fess up.
Just as she was about to admit to stealing the maid pointed what looked like a bent piece of metal at the other girl and asked to see the ruby, since the girl was apparently interested in it.
By now Saeryin was just confused.
"Excuse me," she said, no longer whispering but she would probably not be heard amongst the chatter of the party guests, "but what exactly is going on here? I'll give you anything except my katanas to know. I'll even tell you my name. It's Saeryin. Now what's the story?"

Percival let out a half smile at Remilia's words. "I am really quite interested in that discussion, I expect it to be most interesting. In so far as a new topic... what do you think of that Kaosu persona? Quite a bit of business she's up to, with her challenge and such." Percival stated, his quill ready to write within his notebook.
He was somewhat thirsty, hopefully he'd be able to go grab a beverage in a bit, though as he'd just posed Remilia a question, it would rude not to listen to her reply.

"Kaosu?" Remilia thought for a moment before she replied, "Well, it does seem a little odd. Though, like all the other incidents, I expect it'll work out just fine." However, her curiosity had been piqued now... Perhaps it would be best to check what fate said was in store for the future, the best that she could read it...
"Hm... Strange." she remarked aloud, "I can't seem to tell what fate has in store regarding it... Everything after a certain point is completely blocked out, for everything. Though it does seem to be linked to those events..." She trailed off. This was indeed troubling. What did this mean? She'd never seen something such as this...
"HOLD IT!" Rumia looked toward the maid, startled. She wanted the gem? "Alright..." Rumia bent over and picked up the gem, before handing it to the maid. What was the big deal about it? And what was he pointing at her?

"Thank you little one," the maid said, breast-pocketing the ruby and looking at the two table youkai. "Now you two be good little girls and play with those things responsibly. Swords can cut a baby in half, you know... Now if you don't mind, I must speek with Lady Scarlet at once," he said before turning away and starting to make his way towards the edge of the table.
Elsewhere...
Our eye-in-the-sky had spotted someone near the sushi table who matched the description. "Ah, ere fe iff... Berrrbeck!" And with that she sucked her tongue back in and landed softly on the ground. Hmm... Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to spark a conversation with this girl. Just as long as Akane kept her true intentions concealed.
So with that in mind, Akane walked by and "accidentally" tripped and fell onto the floor, her tongue flying out and landing right across Kitria's feet. "Oww... Dat uurrt!"

Kitria was about to go grab more sushi when something landed on her feet. When she tried to stand up to see what it was, it seemed to stick to her feet and pin her to the ground. She would have fallen backward had the chair not been there.
She gave a little "Oh!" of surprise and looked down. What looked like a frog's tongue was sprawled across her feet. Her gaze followed the tongue to its source, which was the one she'd least expected it to be.
A mansion maid!
"Oh!" said Kitria again. "Are you hurt? Do you need any help?"
--
The turn of events Saeryin witnessed was unexpected for her. Instead of giving her answers, the youkai girl gave the jewel to the maid.
The maid crawled out after saying she must go see "Lady Scarlet." Oh dear. Remilia was going to find out.
But, Saeryin thought, the maid asked Little Miss Can-I-Eat-You for the gem, so she must've thought that she was the one stealing.
Feeling safe, Saeryin decided to make a sneaky exit. She put her katanas in the two scabbards on her back, and quietly crawled out from under the table.
She gasped in surprise when she saw the packed number of feet. Nevertheless, she stood up and headed for the exit, provided no one saw her.
Now there was just one problem. Where was the exit?

"That sounds troubling indeed. Fate being unclear? Sounds to be trouble... if somewhat enigmatic in nature. Oh, my apologies, but I must be off for a moment. I appear to be a bit parched, but I will return quickly." Percival stated, before walking into the crowd. A few moments later saw him at the drink table, where his eyes scrawled along, before picking up a glass of water. He swiftly disappeared back into the throng of people, reappearing outside of it, and walking back up to Remilia within a quick succession of instances.
Taking a long sip from his glass, he decided he'd make this offer. For one, he supposed it would be polite. Secondly, he'd not yet gotten data on vampire feedings. "Lady Remilia, it occurs to me that you might also be a bit thirsty. Would you like some of my blood? I would be a bad guest should I not seek to reciprocate my host's kindness" said Percival.

Remilia nodded absentmindedly when Percival excused himself. What did this mean? Fate simply could not be read from a certain point onward... As far as she could tell, nothing whatsoever was there. And yet, she couldn't quite even see whether it was or not... Strange. If this indeed was the end of the world... Then she would have to do everything in her quite considerable power to stop it. Perhaps sending Sakuya to scout ahead and learn a bit about the castle that this "Kaosu" was in would be a good idea...
Remilia was still lost in thought when Percival returned. She started slightly when he spoke, and offered her his blood. She was, quite honestly, startled by that offer. However... "Not at this time." she responded "I'm not hungry at the moment, I am quite content with my tea for now. Besides, I don't expect the guests to react well seeing another guest being fed off of, even given that most of them know I never kill my victims. Thank you for the offer however, and if it still stands later, I shall keep it in mind."
Remilia then took another sip of her tea, and drifted into thought again. She took no heed of if her guests noticed that she appeared troubled... The issue of Kaosu was worrying her too much now. And her dread of what was in the future increased just slightly for every moment that the world got closer to what was hidden...
Oh, it looked like everyone was leaving from under the table. Oh well~ Rumia decided to go on and search for people who'd let her eat them~ ...Her thought process on how she reached that decision, especially after she'd decided NOT to do that anymore, would likely not translate well onto paper, or really be comprehended by any mind with any intelligence.
After a number of additional failures, including a really nasty one where this girl with wings blasted her with light magic (That hurt!) she ended up wandering to where no one else was... And somehow ended up in the kitchen.
One of the maids was there, working on preparing both a turkey, and a ham. Even Rumia somehow managed to realize that asking this particular person if she could eat them would be a bad idea... But somehow she failed to think certain other obvious things through. She looked toward the ham first, as that looked yummier, and asked, "Can I eat you?" The sad part is, she honestly expected an answer...
Alicia's mind was... Blurry. Why was she out in this snowstorm? She remembered that she had something to do, but... The first thing she could clearly remember was fighting some sort of creature, that had done... Something to her. Apparently whatever it had done had caused amnesia. Hopefully it was temporary... And now, she was wandering through endless white.
"This is just great..." she muttered. "Caught in a blizzard, no idea what I'm supposed to be doing or how I got here... Why do these things keep happening?" However, then, she thought she saw a faint light in the distance. It was hard to tell at first, but as she got closer... Yes, definitely. Perhaps there was shelter there... It was better than freezing to death.
Sure enough, there was a large mansion there. No one appeared to be guarding the gate, so Alicia just walked right in, and knocked on the door. Sure enough, it opened, to reveal... A very, very LARGE room, with a huge number of people, both human and not, inside. Strange... But she would rather fight, if there was indeed one coming, than stay outside right now.
She walked inside, only to hear a voice. "Can I eat you?" "What?" Alicia asked, startled, looking for where it had come from. "I said, can I eat you?" Alicia managed to figure out that the speaker was a little girl, who was standing there, looking up at her.
Alicia's answer was to hold her hand to the girl's face and unleash a weak blast of light magic. Hopefully she'd take the hint. If not, then if there was some god around, it would have to take pity on her.
As Alicia walked away, she heard an "Oww..." but no footsteps behind her, nor a cry of rage. Well, it looked like nothing would be dying... Yet. Unless the girl had a mother or something to defend her... Whatever.

Akane slowly stood to her feet, brushing some dust off (with her tongue) before looking at the girl with the unusual tail. "Do... I'b gite arite, bub take you bor your cokerr," she said before sucking her tongue back in. Then her attention turned towards the girl's tail, the likes of which Akane had never seen. "Woah, what is that thing," Akane asked excitedly, getting closer and crouching down to look at the tail. She poked it (with her tongue) before looking up at Kitria and saying, "I've never seen a tail like this before!"
"I have," a peculiar looking human maid said, stepping forward to get a look at the platypus. "And frankly, I've no clue how one of her kind got to this pocket of space." Whoops! He wasn't supposed to say that... Oh well. "Tell me girl... Do you come from a land down under?"

Tonight was a big night for Sakuya. Lady Remilia was throwing a party, and while Sakuya herself didn't have much interest in such things it was very important to her that the evening be perfect. Why? Simply because her mistress wanted it to be perfect. That was all the reason she needed.
Sakuya had spent the past few hours preparing some appetizers. Some of them had already been sent off to the party by the fairy servants to hold the guests over for now. She was in the process of preparing a great feast, but considering the number of people she had to feed it would take a long time to cook. Simple orderves, crackers, vegetables and cheeses would not be enough to satisfy the guests until the main course was ready, or at least that's what Sakuya thought. Perhaps it wouldn't have been that great of a problem, but even something that made the evening slightly less enjoyable for everyone was simply unacceptable. It had to be perfect.
Currently she was cooking a ham and a turkey. They would eventually be cut into smaller pieces so that any hungry would be less likely to eat the whole thing themself since these meats were meant for everyone. The ham finished first, so she set it on a countertop while she went to get the turkey out of the oven. Then she placed the turkey on the counter next to the ham and went to go make some glaze and stuffing. During that time a young girl managed to find her way into her kitchen. That girl did not belong there; she needed to leave.
"Excuse me, but guests are not permitted in this room. Please leave immediately."
Her voice was firm, but not particularly threatening. The last thing she wanted to do was scare away a guest from the mansion entirely. Of course, considering this girl was trying to talk to a ham maybe that wasn't an issue.
It didn't take too long for her to finish the glaze and stuffing. First she cut up the ham so that each little piece would get an equal amount of glaze. Then she decorated a serving dish with stuffing and put small pieces of turkey on the center of the plate. It was a bit unconventional as an appetizer, but Sakuya thought the guests would like it. Plus, she wanted to make sure there was more warm food for the people that didn't eat meat to eat.
Once they were finally ready to serve Sakuya entered the room the party was taking place in and set the food on the table with the rest of the food. I smelled great, it looked great and she was sure that everyone would love it.
Once it was served Sakuya returned to the kitchen to finish preparing the rest of the food for the evening. Hopefully that little girl would be gone or she would have to be a bit more forceful. She wouldn't have to do anything to drastic yet, but she could not allow any guests in her kitchen while she was preparing food.
