Kitria couldn't quite comprehend what the maid had said, but it sounded like she was okay. And she had stood up, which was a good sign. Even better, her long tongue was off of Kitria's feet.
It was quite unexpected on Kitria's part when the maid commented on her tail and licked it, too! She was just about to explain that she was a platypus youkai when another maid said that she'd seen it. This maid looked a little peculiar, as if she wasn't...well...female.
But Kitria decided she wouldn't pay attention to that. Instead, she answered this new maid's question.
"I really can't remember any great detail of my life before Gensokyo, but I don't know where I came from exactly. Why do you ask?"
--
Saeryin noticed a couple maids talking to one of the guests. Perhaps one of them knew the way out?
She walked up to them.
"Excuse me," she said, "but can you tell me the way out of here?"

"But of course it will be available later, Madame Remilia." Percival stated, falling silent. Miss Remilia seemed to be busy in thought, Percival noted. Ah well, I'm sure she will wish to talk again eventually Percival mused, letting his attention drift slightly as well. His gaze settled on the small group around the rather... suspect Platypus girl from earlier.
I may as well watch how that plays out He thought, as his eyes tracked their gathering.

Rumia barely noticed when the maid spoke to her. She was busy drooling at the ham. By the time she managed to decide that its silence meant that yes, she could eat it, it was already being carried away. Rumia happily followed it, until it was set down... Then she leaped on it, as Sakuya was running away. She didn't even notice the other guests' really annoyed looks. Or that Mystia and Yuyuko had both already been headed toward the ham as well.
Of course, once Mystia saw Yuyuko herself, she decided to get the heck away. Yuyuko, on the other hand, went and started picking pieces off of the ham that Rumia hadn't gotten to yet. Yuyuko was able to salvage a surprising amount of the ham for herself despite the fact that Rumia was eating as much as she could as fast as possible, ripping chunks off with her teeth and swallowing them rapidly. Yuyuko simply floated off again once the ham was gone, while Rumia began sucking up tiny pieces that remained like she was some sort of vacuum.
Just as she was about to move on to more food, she heard a voice. "Hey! No fair!" It was familiar, but she couldn't quite remember it... Until she heard two words that she remembered very clearly. And would never forget, ever. "Master Spark!" Rumia began feeling something of a cross between panic and despair set in. "...Uh-oh."

"Because child, you are a unique case," Augen replied, going into an explanation. "You must've evolved from a beast of the order of monotremata, a creature not native to this world... Or so the orange kid told me. But it looks like he left the party early. Now, if you'll excuse me..." "Hey! No fair! MASTER SPARK!" "... I've got some cleaning to do," the clumsy maid said, running off to restrain a disturbance.
"Excuse me," a phantom spoke. "But can you tell me the way out of here."
"Oh, yes. Of course. It's through that door, to the left, and out the larger door," Akane replied before turning her attention back to Kitria.
"... That maid is weird, isn't she," Akane said, gesturing at Augen. "I think she might be new here, but I dunno. I still don't remember all of the maids by name... By the way, what's a mototerama?"
-----
Dammit, can't pull the Judge out here... Might just have to stick with ol' shocky. Augen reached into his top and pulled the taser from one of his breastpads, dashing torwards the meddlesome magician. Fortunately he seldom used this docile weapon, so he worried not about being recognized. "An oversized beam! How hazardous! Can't you ever deliver justice without creating such a mess," Augen asked, leaping at Marisa and raising his tazer as though it were a dagger.

((OOC: And here we go...))
A huge arrowhead of red crystal sliced through the whirling snow and thudded into the ground just outside the Scarlet Devil Mansion. A few seconds later it dissolved into a crimson cloud, which the winds swept away to reveal a small winged boy. The strong currents of air threatened to whip him off the ground like a rag but he managed to claw his way out of their grasp and sat against a wall to catch his breath.
Lucien began to shiver from the cold as soon as he'd recovered from the landing and the crawl. It was the first time he'd traveled inside his red crystal but he hadn't been able to think of another way to approach the mansion without having to fight his way through the blizzard. It was fortunate that the sun was down or the last few meters would have finished him off.
He sneezed at that point, which reminded him that he had to get inside as soon as possible. The almighty racket made him hesitate but he decided that getting killed by a stray projectile was preferable to freezing. Using the walls for support he dragged himself along until he came to the front door, then he flopped inside and lay still. He was still conscious but strangely enough the only thing in his mind was the hope that the Scarlets wouldn't mind him dripping all over their elegant carpet.

When Sakuya returned to the kitchen all was right once again. The fairy maids were gathering the materials and ingredients she needed, others were cleaning up a little and that little girl that was eying her ham had left as well. She began preparing the large feast. It contained a few exotic meats, such as bear, fresh vegetables (a rarity in the middle of winter) as well as a few sweeter things. Hopefully everyone would love it.
However, her cooking was interrupted by a voice and a rather destructive sound. Did Remilia really invite that witch? Sakuya would never understand her, but if she wanted the black-white here so be it. However, she could not simply let fights break out in the middle of the party. The fact that the witch was already using that horrible laser just made things worse. Destroying the mansion and hurting the guests was simply unacceptable. She told the fairy maids to hold the kitchen and watch over the food. If something happened one would come find her.
Sakuya stopped time and made her way over to where Marisa was standing. To Marisa and everyone else it would look like she just suddenly appeared behind Marisa as no one could move while she had time stopped.
"Do not attack the guests," she said coolly. "If you continue to act like this I am going to have to ask you to leave."
Just like with Rumia, she was firm, but not threatening. Sakuya didn't want to scare any of the guests away after all. Though, when she saw what that horrible spark had caused part of her wished that she could just force the witch to leave right now. However, her mistress' desires would always come first.
((Wasn't really sure what to say.))

"I guess it would be some sort of other name for platypuses," Kitria replied. "I don't really know. And there is indeed something odd about that maid...my thought is that she might not be...well..."
It was kind of disturbing, now that Kitria thought of it.
"...not really a maid, if you know what I mean," she finished, with a look on her face that showed her feelings about the matter.
"By the way," she continued, "do you know when your mistress is going to be available? I've longed to meet her after reading about her, and I was hoping I could get to know her, but she didn't seem to want to talk at the moment...but that's okay, she obviously was discussing a matter she didn't want me to hear about, and that's fine...I'd like to learn about this mansion. I hear it has a lot of secrets."
--
"Thanks," said Saeryin before Kitria answered the maid's question. She began to walk toward the door she'd been directed to, and then...
She remembered hearing "Hey, no fair! MASTER SPARK!" What was going on? She decided to check it out and ran toward the voice. She saw a brilliant multicolored beam, and it was huge! What was even more fascinating was that it was coming from a girl who didn't look exceptionally strong.
As one of the maids scolded the caster of the spell, Saeryin realized that...she wanted to know how to do that. It looked so impressive, and she imagined so many things she could do with that ability...
In her state of daydreams, she walked backwards into a random partygoer by accident, and fell face-first to the ground. Luckily, her hands stopped her face from slamming into the floor just in time. She sat up shook her head. What had she been thinking? She'd never be able to do a Master Spark.

"My, my... now this is quite eventful." Percival muttered, his tone one of amusement. He quickly began to write in his notebook, his swift strokes quickly filling in the information. "Perhaps we should discuss your earlier offer of employment, Madame Remilia?" He asked, finishing his writing.
He turned towards Remilia and waited for her response.

Remilia's thoughts were interrupted by an unforgettable sound. One that automatically registered in her mind as *spark*. She sighed, while rubbing her forehead with one hand. "What did I say about no more disturbances...?" Before she had to intervene herself however, Sakuya appeared and began taking care of it herself.
Remilia called over to Sakuya, "Inu, feel quite free to eject Mari through any means necessary. I already warned her once, and she apparently didn't want to listen." She then leaned back again, before Percival asked about speaking about employment again.
Remilia replied, "Well, the standard contract is that you follow any orders Sakuya or I give you, though of course mine are higher priority than hers. In exchange, you get free room and board at the mansion. In your case, it would appear that any additional ink or books you might require would also be appropriate. You'll have to speak with Patchy about free access to the library. She takes care of it, and I usually allow her to treat it as if it's hers, since it essentially is."
Remilia didn't seem to even pause, before she concluded, "Now, all that remains is to discuss the duration of the initial contract. And you can suggest additional terms or changes for discussion if you wish, of course."
Upon being hit by the spark, Rumia was instantly knocked out... She was weak to light, what else could be expected? At this point in time, she was happily dreaming about all sorts of meat, both cooked and raw, lazily floating through the air for her to take and eat as she wanted. These dreams always turned bad somehow, though she never remembered that fact when they happened... More relevant than Rumia, was Marisa. After Remilia shouted her suggestion to Sakuya, the witch decided to just make a break for it. She zoomed off on her broom, in a direction that only one person was inclined to notice... "She's headed toward the library!" shouted Patchouli, even as she tried to fly through the air after the fleeing black-white witch. It was futile, of course. Marisa's speed was all but legendary, while Patchouli's... Wasn't. Patchouli was more well known for being asthmatic, and somewhat of a shut-in most of the time. She was still powerful, and if she wasn't so physically weak, her magic probably could outmatch Marisa's in every way.
Alicia was startled when she saw a huge laser all but decimate a large table nearby. She drew her sword, and watched out for anything that might attack. It figured that the first place she'd head for shelter would be dangerous... Or... Maybe not. The laser hadn't been aimed at her after all, and it didn't look as if anyone else had much appreciated it either. More important was the young who'd just opened the front door and collapsed behind her. She wondered why the child was here, but that didn't exactly matter at the moment. Alicia sheathed her sword, and bent down next to him. "Are you alright?" ...He didn't look like he was in good shape. She stood up, and began singing her song of healing. The music that had been playing already stopped before she began singing, but she didn't much care about that.

Akane replied to Kitria's question. "Hmm... No, I don't know quite when my mistress will be ready. But if I find out, I'll likely tell y--" "She's headed toward the library!" Akane looked over at Patches and then barely glimpsed Marisa just before she was out of sight. The weird maid was already chasing after her (on foot).
"I gotta help take care of this," she said looking to Kitria. "But I'll be back shortly, kay." And with that Akane's tongue darted off into the direction of the library, followed shortly by the little maid who was attached to it. She waved slightly before disappearing out of sight.
-----
Augen was running at full force down the hallway. Hell, he didn't even know why. He had no duties to this mansion, and already he could tell that this party was not a threat. Something about that witch just lit his torches, though. Was it her interference with his attempts to cure that youkai bomb? Or did he just not like the way she starts trouble for little reason? Augen wasn't sure. He just chased and chased, as suddenly he was being passed by something moving faster than him. Something long. And pink.
Augen quickly leaped and grabbed onto the object, sliding down it's slippery surface. His butt hit something round, and Augen looked back. It was the maid from earlier.
-----
Akane didn't stop moving, but her path did seem to waver a bit. Natural, seeing as she couldn't see so well with her head up somebody's skirt. And what was that strange bulge? Certainly smelled appetizing... But now wasn't the time to think about food! There was a witch on the loose, and how could Akane see where she was going with this skirt here?
"Egguze be," Akane said, a little annoyed. "Buh gan oo gid ov mah ead?"
"Oh, yes. Of course. Sorry," Augen replied, slipping off of her head and just gripping onto her waist. "There... Now let's hurry, before she clones herself again." "Yeah... Wait, how do you--" "Shit! Did I just say that?... Oh well. I'll explain later. Just know that I've got this thing here." "Roger that," Akane said, Judy telling her not to ask any more questions. Just fly on towards the library.

After a while, Lucien became aware of the chaos surrounding him. It sounded like a battle was being fought inside the mansion and for a moment the vampire found himself wondering why the Scarlets and their servants would allow such violent guests inside their abode. Such a move certainly didn't fit their reputation for refinement.
Just then a feminine voice asked him if he was alright and before he could reply it began to sing, sounding absolutely enchanting. The song rapidly restored his strength and in seconds he was able to look up at his benefactor.
At first Lucien saw a rather pretty looking girl with delicate features, but his admiration quickly turned into horror when his eyes fell upon her sweeping white wings. Holy creatures were the bane of most vampires with angels being second only to gods in their deadliness to the people of the Night.
He scrambled away from the girl as quickly as he could but he soon bumped into a wall. In his terror he released a cloud of his red mist and shaped it into an opaque crimson barrier between himself and the angelic creature, cowering behind it when he was done.

"Yes my lady," Sakuya nodded.
While her demenor did not change at all, that was exactly what Sakuya wanted to hear. Such disturbances were were simply intolerable, and now she could actually do something about it without offending a valued guest.
While Marisa was fast no one could hope to "out run" Sakuya. All she had to do was stop time and walk after all. Not surprisingly, the witch was headed for the library. This made a few servants go into a frenzy, but Sakuya calmly walked towards the library and waited for the right moment to strike. Once Marisa got reasonably close to the library Sakuya simply stopped time and closed the door. It would just be unfair to not give the poor witch some time to react, so she was polite enough to make sure Marisa was far enough away from the door to turn away. Of course, she would need exceptionally good reflexes to turn fast enough, but that was a different story.
Of course, Sakuya was prepared for her to turn fast enough (even if she did find it unlikely that her reflexes would be that good), so she put up a thick barrage of knives around her as well. Once again, these were far enough away that Marisa would have some time to react, becasue not giving her that chance would simply be rude. Though, unlike the door, in order to avoid the knives she would have to go through them instead of around them.
Once the attack was ready, Sakuya stood a safe distence away from it and said, "I am going to have to ask you to leave. I'll be happy to show you the door."
