Aya was convinced that with enough effort she could tear through anything, but the machine wasn't even showing any signs of damage yet. There were no dents, no holes, not even any slight discoloration! Her spell card would last for a while longer still unless the fairies figured out how to hit her through that, so she could keep trying. Her hands and feet were starting to hurt though.
Suddenly it appeared like she had less time than she expected. The machine started to glow and Aya just froze. Normally she was okay under pressure, but she just wasn't sure how to react here. Fortunatly it suddenly plummeted to the ground. Good thing she wasn't under it anymore or that might have been painful.
Then she heard a voice. It did sound familiar, but it didn't sound anything like that little fire fairy. Did something suddenly happen? Was she dead? Aya certainly didn't feel very dead, then again she had never died before so she wasn't quite sure what being dead felt like. She could barely see anything through her own danmaku, so she couldn't exactly check to see if anyone else was around. It didn't really matter though. This voice seemed to know something, and Aya didn't have any better ideas.
"Got it!" she shouted towards the machine she was attempting to beat up. She wasn't quite sure which direction to shout, so that direction seemed as good as any.
Aya broke her pattern so that she could use a different one. That one wasn't at all effective in this situation. She flew and started to spin very rapidly, fast enough that the wind she created around her had the power of a small tornado. It didn't have much range, but she was fast enough that didn't matter too much. She dove into the fairies as quickly as she could. It was somewhat difficult to aim, but not as hard as it was with Peerless Wind God. She figured she could take out the ones in blue pretty quickly. She just hoped that Honoo would come to soon since she was the only one that could take out the other ones.

The wind faeries weren't gaining on Honoo, (still unconscious) but she WAS running out of space to move her. Thankfully, these faeries are stupid and they didn't just go back to Aya. (she could be dealt with with much more ease) Honoo was about to wake up too (in times of need she can bounce back really fast) so that was going nicely too. Genshuku was also pretty energetic, and started to throw a few rocks (with the gravity) to distract some of the wind faeries while keeping the mecha (who would to have whoever was doing this as a nice snack) down. It worked, heavy stuff works well against the wind they create, causing them to use more effort than she did.
At Aya's location, the faeries were...being blown away, figuratively and literally. About half of them dodged (the rest being knocked about by the things in the winds or being blown away altogether) while the rest dodged. The leader was stunned by the blow, and even fell for a while. When she (one could tell by now that she was a she) she...acted differently upon regaining her.
"The hell...oh. Might as well continue this charade then...how about you al try avoiding her and spreading out? That would help."
They obeyed, spreading out into a very undense cloud, and started to shoot at Aya, missing more but not deiing just as fast and having their own room to dodge.
((Mysterious Figure: Crap, we lost the signal to the Elite Squad. The enemies are too dense now...looks like we have no choice but to let them finish up, unless the mecha makes me proud....Phooey.))

Tch, so the fairies finally decided to spread out? Considering how un-fairylike they were acting she figured it was only a matter of time before they figured out that attack's weakness. Not a problem, she would just use a different one. Wind was a very diverse weapon after all. Aya suddenly stopped moving and the mini-tornado around her stopped as well. She was moving too fast to stop on a dime, but it didn't take too long for her to come to a complete stop.
Since the fairies were firing right at her it didn't take much effort to dodge all of their shots. Even though they were organized like this they were still fairies and didn't seem to realize just how easy aimed shots were to dodge. Since she had to keep moving, move slowly enough to aim and return fire her choice of attacks was rather limited. Aya decided the best way to do this was to take them out one at a time, and that was actually much faster than it sounded. As she continued to dodge the fairies' aimed shots she also sent out several of her own. They were small, concentrated blasts of wind, but they were quite strong. Getting hit by that would certainly leave a mark. Not only that, but they were also very fast, and she could cast two of them with a single swing of her fan.
((Just in case you were wondering, the last two attacks were based off of her SWR attacks. First one was a spell card, this one is just her normal C attack I think it is. I don't play Aya, so I'm not completely sure.))

The youkai (but for all Aya and everyone else knows she's just not human, but that's usually youkai anyway) leader was up to something, but it wasn't exactly a battle plan, as the faeries were blasted into oblivion. The leader checked her connection with base, to find out it had been wrecked. She mutters, "Perfect, can't be blamed for that, when all the faeries are gone..." And she says this more audibly, "Well, I think I'll give her a rough time anyway~"
She pulls out a spell card: Sub-Zero Cannon "Hollow Frost"
She then shoots a huge blast from one of her cannons, the catch being it was like a hollow cylinder, she was attempting to trap Aya inside (and it would be hard not to, there's plenty of room (now) inside the blast, and it was pretty big. (It's also see-through, which is nice) The other faeries continued to aim at her, not even knowing their leader had a small plan. Matter of fact, after all this cold cannon shooting, it was becoming pretty chilly...
Meanwhile, back at the ranch At Genshuku's location, the wind faeries weren't much closer to Honoo then they were before when she woke up, realized she was being moved away from killer faeries, and decided to give them a rude wake-up-call, pulling out a spell card:
Normal Power: "Fiery Explosions"
And most of the (surprised) faeries were hit, some being caught in the explosions, others just getting whacked, but they still remained healthy in number. Genshuku realized that Honoo had woken up, and so let Honoo control herself freely so she could help out with the wind faeries some more, now chucking more rocks at them. Honoo would have thanked Genshuku, but she didn't know she was actually there, just that for some reason she was flying back and there were faeries chasing her and some rocks were flying around, not hitting her. The wind fairy leader wasn't paying much attention, and was hit by a fireball herself, but she wasn't out quite yet. They still didn't get far with hitting Honoo though, now that they have more rocks to deal with, plus fireballs.

The cannon fire came pretty quickly, and Aya was distracted by all the fairies she now had to take down individually. She couldn't react quickly enough to get completely out of the way since the blast was so huge, but she could get into the center of it safely. The center was large enough, so Aya wasn't all that worried. Plus, she could still see where the fairies that happened to be outside of the blast were, so she could still hit them once she finished off the ones inside of the blast. Aya was a little worried that she was essentially trapped, but she did have a few more spell cards and could deathbomb if need be.
It was starting to get a little chilly inside of giant laser. The cold didn't really bother Aya much. She manipulated wind, which could be cold, and she lived near the top of a mountain, which was also cold. It wasn't at all hard for her to move and continue casting her small shots. She was just glad that little fire fairy wasn't in here, and hoped that the blast was small enough that it would not effect her. She decided that now would be a good time to check. Dealing with all the fairies had been so annoying that she didn't even think to look before. Honoo didn't even seem to be where she was before, instead she was several feet away and was shooting fireballs at other fairies. Exellent, things were going just as that voice said they should.
Aya actually had a rare moment to think now. She still wanted to know why the fairies were attacking and how they were able to get so orgainized. The thing inside of the machine seemed to be leading them all. They might not be the ringleader, but they were certainly smarter than the fairies. They might know something, and Aya wanted to find out what they knew. She would not allow that person to escape if she could help it.

Well, Aya kept on shooting the faeries down, but after a while, Aya's streaming made the bullets start to meet up with the hollow side of the cannon. Aya was running out of room. This was also not helped by the fact the inside 'walls' of the cannon started to shoot danmaku, hampering attempts of movement. However, not much faeries were left. (about 20 actually, the numbers are finally starting to slim)
Aya was unaware of the fact that mecha could be controlled via AI, but regardless, someone WAS in there. She didn't know much, the anti-fire leader knew more. Regardless, it would probably be useful to interrogate her...maybe. Or, maybe not...
Inside the mecha...
((Strange Fairy: Ziiii...Zi, zi ziiiiiiiiiii....Zi? ZIIIIII.....))
(She obviously does not speak english or japanese, just Ziii....wonder why?)
And back to undefined area:
((Mysterious Figure: Do we have contact with the mecha at least?)) ((Technician: We...can not get a good signal. It must be jammed. We still have somewhat of a connection though, so we should be able to get though later.)) ((Mysterious Figure:...sigh...Not going as planned.))
And at Honoo's loaction:
Well, Honoo was doing pretty well against these faeries, and with Genshuku helping out as well, it was a matter of time before their number slimmed to 1, the leader. She was pretty angry that all of her members were beaten, and pulled out a spell card.
Havoc Wind: Angry Typhoon
She positioned it so it would hit both Honoo and Genshuku, but Honoo just moved behind her and shot point blank fireballs until she went down, quickly, while Genshuku dodged the single beamlike tornado, easily.
(I felt out of whack while posting, if something doesn't look right right, tell me.)

Aya noticed that she was getting close to the edge. It was time to change directions. She put a little more distence between her and the bullets than she had been. If they continued aiming at her there would be enough space between the previous bullets and the bullets that were currently aimed at her for her to start streaming the other direction again. However, she had to get pretty close to the edge of the laser, and she was unaware that more bullets were starting to come out of the edge of the laser. She was able to dodge them, but her sudden movement screwed up her plan to start moving in the other diection. For now she would have to stream vertically, and since she was so close to the edge of the cannon that would be fairly difficult.
Fortunatly she had taken out almost all of the fairies now. Only ten more swings before they all went down. That would only take about a minute, then she could focus on staying away from the bullets coming out of the edge of the cannon. Since it would be hard to dodge all this she made sure she was ready to cast her spell card just in case she really needed to.
"Hey voice!" she shouted in no particular direction. Aya still didn't know who that voice was coming from. "Do you know how to break open that machine? I'd like to talk to the person inside."

Yes, it was getting dangerous in there. Time was running out...speaking of that, the blast...is it getting smaller? That isn't good, the spell card is timing out, and it is now getting it's time-out difficulty increase, which seems to be less room. Hold your breath...
Trust the hit-box, 10 seconds. Or, something else could happen. That will happen in 5.
Inside the Robot:
((Ok, maybe it was just high-piched like a fairy, more info on that later, I had enough time to think this out.)) ((Unknown Hi-Pitched Voice that sounds almost like a fairy: Zi.......4%...Zi........)) ((Unknown Pilot: Eh? I thought I told you to shut up. What do you mean anyway?)) ((We can just call her Zi~: Energy....Low....System....Critical...)) ((Unknown Pilot: You gave me the energy I needed, stay put anyway.)) ((Zi: ...))
At Genshuku and Honoo's location:
Genshuku heard Aya, and said: "The only was to break it is...by force. That's hard, you should know. Only way though. If you could take care of those people...I think I'll help with that, now that I'm less busy~"
And then the danmaku just started to clear. It went away from Aya, as though she had a force surrounding her, repelling all of the shots. That helps, so so much. Meanwhile, Genshuku explained to Honoo that there was nothing she could do the rest of the match: either try to burn the fireproof people or get anywhere near the burning mecha.
The reaction to the danmaku clearing:
The leader started to wonder what the heck was going on down there, everything started to just miss Aya. The spell card ran out, the faeries were down, and...well...Can't give up that easily, can she? An epic battle can only be ended one way...well, almost ended, but still, that machine was toast. Can't even move...
"Alright, you asked for it! Focus....focus...!"
Take the time to chat before she times out and pulls out a Last Word Spell Card.

Aya was afraid that was the only way to take down the machine. Nothing she was doing seemed to be working, but at least the fairies were gone now. The laser cannon thing also went away, so she was free to move however she needed to move. She was going to throw all her power into this shot. If this didn't break open that machine nothing she could do would.
"I'm going to throw everything I've got at this. I don't know anything about your abilities, but if you have anything to add feel free to!"
First, she swung her fan one more time, just like she did when she was taking out the fairies. There was plenty of distence between her and the machine thankfully, so she didn't need to back up any. Aya flew as fast as she possibly could when she was flying on her back. She could fly faster if she dove head first into the machine, but she decied that she would rather risk breaking the blocks of wood on the bottom of her shoes instead of her skull. Diving head first might be more painful than she was willing to risk.
The small blades of wind would hit the machine first, then Aya would try to tunnel through it. Right now she just hoped that she wasn't about to tunnel through the person running the machine as well, but she couldn't think of another way to tear through this. If she wanted her story she was going to have to take that risk.

And then the card times out, and she is defeated in a series of pretty explosions. And then she comes back. Last Word time. She pulls out one last spell card, as to seal this battle in stone. Or rather, ice.
Diamond Dust: The New Ice Age
A giant area (even reaching Honoo and Genshuku's location) had the ground turned into a thick layer of ice, which caught everyone (but the user herself) by surprise, and then it started to shatter up-wards into thick, very cold danmaku. While this was going on, she started to shoot big blasts from her cannon at Aya and Genshuku+Honoo, forcing them to take action after Aya hit the machine (with a great force, it managed to make a huge dent in the machine, but that would be the least of your worries, the machine is stuck in a layer of very hard ice anyway, not to mention be taking a blow from the entirety of this attack)
Genshuku and Honoo were taken by surprise, she thought that that person was taken care of, and was a little busy saving herself from a sudden flash freeze. The machine was freed from it's grip, but now it's stuck in a layer of ice so cold it can freeze communication.
Inside the machine:
*BANG*
The dent Aya made actually hit the pilots face (ow, she was almost K.O.ed) and destroyed the manual controls. It had auto pilot though, so she could probably save herself...only that it damaged her teleporting unit and wrecked the machines. She set the machine on auto pilot when all of the sudden...it got really cold. REALLY, REALLY COLD. This was followed by a series of crashes and bangs, completely wrecking the inside of the machine, destroying all but it's main brain, and it wasn't even done yet. Zi managed to crawl out of her containment unit, immune to the cold, but still in horrible condition. The pilot was knocked out, and Zi decided to look for the machines power source, in order to see if she could somehow get her stolen energy back, because she needed that, fast. If she couldn't find that, then maybe whatever knocked the machine would be a little nicer than these people. Obviously, it didn't like them, and the enemy of your enemy is your friend, most of the time.

Aya was quite pleased that she was finally able to dent this thing. It didn't look like it was quite enough to crack the thing open, but that was a pretty nasty looking dent. One more hit like that and she might be able to smash it open. However, she made one small miscalculation. Her feet were stuck. At least the enemy was defeated and there was no more danmaku right?
Aya could only wish. She froze in more than one way when ice started to cover the ground. Apparently the enemy had one more spell card. The ice started to cover the machine she was stuck in, and she feared it would start to cover her if she didn't do something about it. Fortuneatly she had a spell card just for this occasion.
"Darkness of the Crow!" she paniced.
A small barrier surrounded her and absorbed any ice that touched it. It didn't last too long, but she was hoping that she could free her feet before it vanished. The barrier didn't just absorb danmaku though. It would also damage anything it came into contact with. In this case, it would damage the machine a bit. Hopefully it would be enough.
"I seem to have plowed into this thing a wee bit too fast," she laughed nervously. "Do either of you have something that can get me out of here? I'd rather not be hit by that laser," she laughed again.
((Darkness of the Crow is Reimu C's bomb in SA))

Genshuku was busy trying to clear away Aya's and her own danmaku, when the leader charged at her (it clicked, she was doing it), shooting lots of big danmaku shots for Aya to dodge as she did, and took Gen by surprise, leaving her to focus on herself instead of anything else, including her own and Aya's shots. Genshuku....has no idea how to shoot danmaku. She also can't chuck the ice at her, it was too chaotic, and it wouldn't do anything anyway. She wouldn't even be able to see the rocks, much less get them when the whole area was buried under ice. Honoo was busy dodging as well (too cold to get a good enough fire to just melt the ice), attempting to shoot in this sub-zero weather proved to be quite the challenge, and it started to tire her. Gen said to Aya: "Sorry, I'm a little tied up myself here." And Honoo didn't even respond at all. Inside the mech: Zi could not find the power cell, it must be built in somewhere else, how disappointing. The damage to the machine continued, followed by a strange darkness penetrating the inside of the machine, leaving a hole to see what was going on out there. To be frank, it looked like hell froze over. Zi could barely see outside, and there wasn't much of a chance anyone would be able to see inside either. Zi was hopeful that the storm would end soon, it had only started a little while ago. (Did you know?: Diamond Dust is an attack used by Shiva, an ice summon, in Final Fantasy? It looks sort of like this attack as well, only more shards. )

Wow, her spellcard was actually breaking through the machine? If she had known that the spell card would have been enough to crack it open she wouldn't have bothered diving into it! Darkness of the Crow wasn't particularly powerful, but it absorbed danmaku, so it was great for defense. Perhaps her initial strike was enough to soften the rest of it? Aya didn't know much about machines like this, so she couldn't really say. Regardless, the machine had a big hole in it, and once this spell card broke she was going to pull the one controlling it out of there to interrogate it.
But first, the spell card had to be broken. Her spell card still had a little bit of time left on it before it would break, so she had a few seconds to get away from the cannon. She did need time to react to whatever that thing was going to shoot at her after all. There was ice and lasers. The lasers seemed to be aimed, so they wouldn't be hard to dodge, but the stattering bits of ice seemed to be completely random so they were far more worrisome. Aya assumed that the caster would still be in the machine thing, so she made sure to fire wind shots at it as she dodged.
Aya was getting sick of fighting these annoying things, so she hoped that all of this would be over soon. She wasn't really used to fighting in general, nor did she particularly enjoy it, which made her even more annoyed. The person in that machine had better talk because she really wasn't in the mood to put up with anymore crap today.
((I don't really play FF. x: I'm picturing it like Youmu's last spell card I think it is? The one where she aims these big red shots at you. One is aimed right at you while the other two are aimed away from you. Then there are these blue shards coming up from the bottom of the screen. I don't remember what it's called, and I cbf to look it up right now.))

((Sounds something like that, just picture only the aimed shots and more (I can't see Youmu's move (nor would I be able to get there ) so if those upward shots are fast, they are slow here, and yeah, more of them) rising shots. If you need an explanation, just look at FF8's Shiva Summon on Youtube )) Inside the mech: Zi is just laying in front of the hole, waiting for the storm to finish. The cold probably slowed the pilot's moments (and therefore making it sleep longer) so she was safe for the time being. Unless she ran out of energy... At the Mysterious Figure's Base: ((Mysterious Figure: So, the Makai invasion?)) ((Commander: We have entered the center. You may either take part in it's downfall, or leave it to us.)) ((Mysterious Figure: Excellent. I shall go with you, and storm the place myself. You may take your leave, along with the soldiers. Shinki...time to end your reign.)) ((Commander: But Ma'am! Oh....if you wish.)) ((Mysterious Figure: I knew you would see it my way~)) And back at the battlefield: Genshuku had totally forgotten she had a weapon amongst the confusion, and therefore used it to give a few smacks to this new threat. It hits, but the person hardly budged. She continues though. (Mima unsealed with her own copy, go figure) Honoo knew when to quit using up her own body heat, and so stopped attempting to shoot, just trying to dodge the thick wave of freezing bullets, and grazing a storm of them. (Like everyone else, they are that close to each other) Of course, this was a Last Word. It would last a while. (This was slightly rushed, brother wanted me off the computer so he could go on, go figure. )

Aya was finding it increasingly difficult to track both the large lasers (even if they were aimed) as well as the ice at the same time. It was becoming painfully clear that she was just getting tired. Normally she didn't fight at all, and on the few occasions she did she rarely faught with her full strength. Honestly, she wasn't quite sure what her full strength was anymore. Regardless, she really didn't want to fight anymore.
Aya frantically looked around for a place to hide until the spell card broke. Eventually, she looked at the ground. It looked like the ground hadn't started to re-freeze yet, and the inside of that machine didn't even look like it froze at all. Was it safe there? It seemed like the lasers could still hit the machine, but that thing was unbelieveably durable. Would the enemy even attack its own machines? She would make sure that the cannon could at the very least absorb a hit before going inside of it. After all, once she was inside it would be extremely difficult to get out and dodge.
Aya looked at the direction the lasers were coming from. It looked like she had a little bit more time before the ice shards would start coming up again, so she decided to hide behind the cannon first. Based on the angle the lasers came from the caster would hit the machine. If the machine absorbed the attack or the caster chose not to shoot at her then she would hide inside of it. If she nearly got blown up then she would not go inside of it. It seemed like a safe enough test anyway.
