Oh dear...
Katrina rushed toward Hikaru. Then she put her healing touch into action. Putting her hand on his shoulder, she let the healing light flow through both of them. Instantly she felt strong and healthy.
The question was, did it work on Hikaru?
"Oh...you're hurt...it's okay. You've been healed. I can do that."
She continued to speak of the windmill. "As for the windmill, the legend said that if it stopped turning, something bad would happen. Vague, I know, and yes, it's a ridiculous myth, but I decided not to risk it until I found out it...wasn't...true..."
Just then she felt a pang of fear. Was it not true, or was the bad thing yet to come? If the bad thing was Hikaru getting hit by a piece of steel then...that wasn't too serious. At least she could heal him, but what if...
She was scared.

Hikaru said "Im fine, I'm fine."
Hikaru stood up, it turned out that he turned his head into steel at the last moment of impact to minimize the damage. Hikaru said "That did hurt though... Enough momentum to knock me over. Good thing I noticed it, or else I would be a goner."
Hikaru spoke of death so easily he couldn't even beleive it.

Whew! Hikaru was okay. Katrina decided to speak of her fear.
"I think the myth may still be true, now that I think of it. Perhaps the bad thing was the piece of steel falling on you, or me losing my house. But my biggest fear right now is that it's something worse...and it's yet to come..."
Something bad for sure. Were Katrina, Hikaru, and Carmellia in grave danger that they didn't know about?
Katrina was...scared. Again.

Hikaru said "Something big, huh? I still don't beleive it, it's very superstitious."
Then huge block of steel fell down and hit Hikaru's foot. Hikaru didnt use the metal defense this time so his bone got crushed. Hikaru grunted in pain and knelted down painfully. He said "Okay now I beleive this Windmill is cursed..."

Even though falling steel was bad, it wasn't exactly the curse she had had in mind. Her interpretation had been the sky growing dark and then some evil people kidnapping her.
This was not TOO bad...unless it was happening all over Gensokyo. Then it would be a big deal. Luckily, it was only happening near the windmill--
Carmellia! She suddenly remembered. What if steel was falling on her?
She ran into the windmill. "Carmellia! Wake up! The windmill's cursed!"

It wasn't the shout that woke Carmellia but the small shower of dust from the ceiling. It made her sneeze and rub her eyes but she wasn't completely awake until a sizable chunk of roofing glanced off her head. The impact knocked her off the sofa but it wasn't enough to put her out, and when she got up she was mad.
Clutching her sore head she rose off the ground with a roar, gathering what she intended to be her largest shot ever. Fueled by her rage the blue ball of magic grew with terrifying speed, and it was larger than her body by the time she cleared the roof.
After reaching a certain height she turned in the air until she was face-down with the growing magic ball between her and the house. When it was twice her size she let it go...

Hikaru looked at the demon about to destroy the Windmill. Hikaru used the flying-shadow/quick-step. He disappeared from the place he was and appeared on the roof between the blue sphere of energy and the house. Hikaru glared at the blue sphere coming at him in pain. His foot still hurting from the chunk of metal that hit him. Hikaru said "You will not destroy this house!!! It belongs to someone!"
Hikaru turned his whole body into full steel ready to blocked the whole attack. Then all the sudden a figure appeared in front of Hikaru. He had no idea what it was, it was hard to see. The figure said "Are you stupid...? Hikaru..."
The figure had wings and it lifted it's spear. The figure unleashed the thunder strike and canceled out the blue sphere of energy as well as his own thunder strike. Hikaru turned back to normal and fell back from the force. He sat on the roof and said "K... Kanda...."

Yumi watched the windmill from far away, she saw the winged man deflect the blue sphere. Yumi smiled "Wow.... fire works...."

Katrina raced to Hikaru's side again. "Are you okay?!"
Then she noticed another figure.
"Oh no...get away! The windmill is cursed!" she called out to him or her. She couldn't tell.
"Right. Hikaru, Carmellia, we have to get out of here. We have to...find somewhere to go but we have to get out!"

Hikaru said "I guess we should all leave..."
Kanda said "I heard about this place... from the villagers... Its on the middle of this mystic lake... Thats where I am headed."
Kanda flew up and thought, And I can find the information on the Arch Agyel stone.... Kanda flew away. Hikaru looked up at the sky, he then jumped off the roof and said with interest "Well I am going to find this lake..."
Yumi thought, Lake...? Wait! It must be the Scarlet Devil Mansion.... If they go there, they will become food for Remillia Scarlet the vampire! I must warn them... Yumi ran after Hikaru.

This was all too much for Carmellia's patience. She pouted and she screamed and she stamped her feet in mid-air (for all the good that did). Why was everyone trying to get in her way today? Well, this time no one would stop her and she would finish what she started- destroying the windmill.
She pulled out her most powerful spellcard, but just before she declared it a white laser sliced cleanly through her wrist and sent her hand tumbling to the ground, still holding the card. Screaming even louder she fell to the ground, clutching her wrist. There was no blood thanks to the laser's effects but it certainly hurt.
Then, something happened. Carmellia stopped screaming all of a sudden and sat up with a puzzled expression, and even stranger was the fact that she had both her hands again. She had no idea where she was or why she was there and in her confusion she turned to look at the three people standing nearby.

Out of sight of anyone on the hill, a tall woman with long blue clothes and hair sighed as she rolled up her astral scroll. She'd heard the sound of battle from the village schoolhouse and had rushed over as quickly as she could. Resolving the issue had been as simple as stopping the Youkai long enough for her to remove the source of the child's anger (and the loss of her hand as well) from history. While she wanted to be more thorough she had a class to resume and she walked back to the schoolhouse.
Some day she would get her hands on that Carmellia and she would make a fine lady out of the Youkai... some day, if she ever managed to catch her outside of school hours.

Katrina stared in wonder as Carmellia's hand was sliced off. Could it be the windmill's curse?
She rushed to Carmellia and was about to administer her healing ability when she noticed that the girl was no longer injured.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
It was the windmill. It had to be. What else could it have been?

While Carmillia was getting her arm sliced off with all the confusion. Hikaru had already walked away from the Windmill. Then he heard a scream, he quickly turned arround and looked at the demon girl a from a distant. Yumi hid behind a tree so she wouldn't look like a stalker following Hikaru. Then a voice echoed through his head, <The Curse of the Windmill.....> Then Hikaru looked at his hand, his flesh was melting. Hikaru clencehd his teeth as all he saw left was bones on his hand. His hand was shivering as his flesh melted from his bones. Hikaru thought, Corpse...... What the hell is going on!?! Hikaru tried forming his wings however the wings disintegrated.... Hikaru said "I must destroy that windmill... before my whold body gets eaten into corpse...."

Carmellia rubbed her eyes and tried to understand what was going on. The last thing she remembered was waking up on the sofa and then... well, what then?
The concerned voice caught her attention and made her turn to look. She saw a girl standing over her and after a moment or two she remembered that the girl was the owner of the house. Yeah... the house. She'd been trying to help rebuild the house for some reason and she'd fallen asleep. The girl had been nice enough to put her on the couch. What was her name again? Katrina? Yes, her name was Katrina.
From Katrina's concern Carmellia judged that something serious must have happened but as far as she was concerned everything was alright now. Perhaps she would get back to rebuilding the house since she'd said she would. "Yeah, I'm okay. Why shouldn't I be?."

Katrina was relieved that Carmellia was safe.
Wait a second...what was happening to Hikaru?!
As quick as she could, Katrina did her healing spell on Hikaru again. She hoped it would work.
Oh man. What would come next? Evil things coming out of nowhere? Rocks falling from the sky? Characters walking out of books?
Uh-oh.

Hikaru's hand was healed back to its orginal form. Hikaru's hand was still shivering. Hikaru thought he was going to die. Hikaru said "Im sorry, uhhh.... Katrina... But I beleive it's best if I leave this place... Anyways, I still want to check out that lake..."
Even though Hikaru could run away from the Windmill, the curse was still on him. Yumi knew something bad was going to happen. She knows if Hikaru made one step onto the Scarlet Devil Mansion, he would be eaten by the vampire. Yumi thought, The white haired boy is going to die soon.... Very soon....I can sense it....
